^Just because it isn't high on the list, doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed appropriately. Councillors from wards 1 and 2 want the pilot to go ahead and so it should be.

And those of us who have spent time in the Third World don't mind the occasional crowing of a rooster - it's kind of comforting. Besides, everybody should be up by 6am anyway.

RTH can certainly address anything. But the site invites reader comments which obviously presumes expression of opinions. Some opinions will not agree with the editiorial position taken, a fact which gives RTH editors indigestion at times.

Don't know much about the specifics of the pros and cons. The issue doesn't really interest me, so I chose not read those articles.

But, in general, the less gov't interferes, and disallows little things like that, the better. If other places allow it, I'd look at the pros and cons of their experiences. In general, I'm for allowing pretty much anything as long as others aren't put out. If my neighbours had them, and it did not disturb me, then I wouldn't care. We've got dogs in the neighbourhood and i hear them bark. That's what dogs do.

Five historic multi-plexed homes lit up in flames last week. I had wondered if they were salvagable, but today they were starting demolition.

I'm wondering how bad the other buildings are. It looks like you could just rebuild the roofs (rooves?), but who knows how bad it was.

The fire started in the basement and up through the roof. I don't think there will be much left to save.

I've been told the old Lifesaver Factory is going to be turned into condo/lofts. They are going to add another floor.

They've been working on that for years now. I'll be surprised if it actually comes to fruition.

With the impending budget devoting 40% towards road work, I will keep wishing for a solution to this old problem. The politics between bridge ownership / responsibilties continues decades later...

The bridge now sits with a fenced cage around it, which no one can enter as there is no door. Of course garbage collects inside and looks terrible.
The Ray St bridge no longer exists, but it would be nice to have that converted to a pedestrian crossing. It would eliminate that divided feeling from the rail road. I can dream...

Hamilton’s most at-risk students are getting a new home.

On Wednesday evening, the Liberal government announced funding for a new $31.8 million high school in the city’s core. The 1,250-seat facility is expected to replace Delta, Sir John A. Macdonald and Parkview secondary schools when they close in 2015.

Replacing 3 large high schools with one medium sized high school. That's gonna create some serious problems when the population shift in the lower city happens.
