204, I'm merely commenting on the impression the comments made with me. I tried to look at the quotes from different views, certainly not intending to read anything I wanted to. I just found the comments in poor taste. To be fair, I don't know anything about the guy or his business, and barely know that hood.

If one says something that can be taken so wrongly, is it not fair to question the sense?

For the record though, I'm not even slightly offended, and I'm not suggesting any one should be. I just agree with some of the members here that the quote was a little off-side.

Market is their "general store" concept store-from the website, it looks like mostly kitchen/household goods.

it opens december 20th - next thursday -first stand alone for canada and i think second overall for the chain

looked at the website they have some good goods, they will caryy SMEG fridges

it will also include a café in collaboration with Philadelphia-­based coffee roasters La Colombe Torrefaction.

I was in NYC recently for work, and a coworker mentioned to me that "this great new store from Canada opened up here... A-something". Sure enough, she was referring to Aritzia. She was also surprised to hear that Lululemon is from Vancouver and Aldo is from Canada as well. I was going to ask her if she know what "TD" stands for as well, but held off, as our gradual takeover of the US is best left unknown.

Haha! Yes, I had a friend in town recently from the US who said, "Oh, you have TD Bank here too?" I said, "Yes...TORONTO Dominion." Blank stare in return.

all the banks shortened their names in the late 80's or 90's when i was a kid it was Bank of Nova Scotia, now its just Scotia Bank, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is now just CIBC etc. some younger people have no idea of the old names, its kinda weird

Energie-Miss Sixty shut down their Robson location this week, never noticed too many customers in there nor in their Pacific Centre location, sadly, another international clothing chain leaves Robson, hopefully something great in it's place.

yeah, i think i know where it is now, its not in the built up main retail area but a new retail area away from the crowds - gonna check it out next time i am down there

too bad about miss sixty - the stores i saw in london were huge - like as big as Zara

I thought Miss Sixty was going to be moving to a larger in Mall location eventually? maybe this is that? odd time to close mind you ...

There is something going into the old Ann Taylor space. Not sure what though.

Ann Taylor has not entered the Vancouver market, I believe they're in Toronto, Yorkdale now and possibly Eaton Centre.

bouclair home is opening in coquitlam in that new strip mall of sorts next to IKEA

i think this is the first location in BC - they recently expanded west with a few stores in alberta

Word on the White Rock street is that the Semiahmoo Mall Zellers will be turning into a miniature Bay with just clothes and housewares. Apparently they couldn't get out of their lease. They have already started converting stock with Gluckstein Home merchandise showing up. Should be an interesting test for the brand, particularly if they do any significant leasehold improvements to match with an upgraded Bay brand.

That's interesting. It may be able to draw from the Morgan Creek area.
Otherwise, the closest Bay is either Richmond Centre or Guildford.

Seems like a pretty locally-oriented mall.
