I love this proposal... but that could just be my love for "balls" talking.

I heard that other day that the Calgary tower is expandable by adding another 2 floors and a 70 meter addition to the spire, which would make it the tallest building again. I wonder if, since that is possible, it would be feasible to reclad the entire tower. Hide that hideous concrete behind glass or something? Make it look like a jagged glass shard. I have an idea in my head and it would be pretty darn badass!

These homes are not real blight, they are boarded up so that he can get his own way. Matty Maroun is a neighbourhood destroyer on both sides of the border!

The pictures of Hamilton and Vancouver are funny. The Downtown East Side of Vancouver, as shown, is Canada's poorest nighbourhood and literally equatable to a third world country. It's only a few square blocks. That's literally the worst Canada has to offer. I'm pretty proud of that

Toronto has it's fair share of ugly, but aside from the billboard, I don't find anything particularly off-putting about that stretch of Bloor West. Buildings are in decent condition aside from the graffiti I guess? Sidewalks in that area were redone recently too.

More oogliness. The closest tower is a reclad version of a current ugly. Unfortunately I find it worse.

Those buildings weren't very nice the day they were finished, imo. They were blue collar slums back then, and they certainly didn't get any prettier over time. They're a far cry from even middle class Vics/Georgians.

I suppose it depends on what one is accustomed to; we all have different tastes as well. Let's just say that when on Bloor I tend not to venture further east than Sherbourne or further west than St. George. Don't get me started on Yonge.

Ohhh relax, the reclad isn't THAT bad! I find the current building offensively ugly. Concrete internationalism? They should have just done it in black steel like everywhere else. At least it would have been timeless.

I prefer that stuff over the expanses of glass and nothing else in Southcore. That area is in desperate need of some stone. At least that stretch has some character.

I'm with isaidso on this one. Save for that somewhat attractive 3 storey building at the end of the block, I would prefer to see the rest demolished and replaced by quality (even if somewhat nondescript) low-rises of 5-10 floors (not glass high-rises).

The part of Bloor west of Spadina reminds me a lot of St. Catherine Street west of Guy in Montreal. Both are interesting, lively, animated areas with sub-par buildings (although there are nice buildings on both as well).

It's a classic! I would love it though if they opened a KFC at the top. They could replace the current tower 360 restaurant.
