A couple of things I couldn't get pictures of:
-
All the buildings that need to be demolished for the expansion of the Convention Centre are now gone.
- Some (presumably) condo development with the name
Westfield on Blackmarsh Road has cleared quite a large area.
The Henry-Bell Condo Complex (specifically in this case the parkade beneath the Mirador Building) has topped off another floor:

The re-clad of TD Place is continuing slowly. Now that I know what it's going to look like, I'm not anxious about the pace. It'll be a fine, average building - and the style really reflects that of the new Fortis Building going up so it'll frame out little skyline nicely. I still can't believe we're going to have some more attractive modern towers... I'm so used to
modern = ugly in St. John's.

Look at that gorgeous curtain wall... I'm in love. I think the completion of the curtain wall will make it look less stumpy - and once the restaurant and decorative elements are added to the parkade... we'll see.
I'm very hopeful it won't look as "squat up by St. John's rules" as many of us in the St. John's Project Thread feared.

Fortis Place. This company also owns TD Place (and numerous other buildings in St. John's). Its existing Fortis Building was the very first office tower in St. John's and is scheduled to be reclad soon.

And, finally, Sundara - one of many condos/apartment blocks/seniors homes going up in the metro region. It's nothing exciting, but it does signify a big change for us - it's increasing the density of our sprawling suburbs. And they're popping up everywhere.
Just yesterday the city council in Mount Pearl approved a new apartment complex for Park Avenue (one of its main streets), despite residents' objections about the height and density. (That's right, they actually complain specifically about density. I just want to yell at people sometimes. YOUR EXPECTATIONS ARE UNREALISTIC AND YOUR COMPLAINTS ARE ILLEGITIMATE AND UNJUSTIFIABLE. THIS IS UNSUSTAINABLE! STOP BEING SO ****ING SELFISH! DON'T SADDLE MY GENERATION WITH SPRAWLING SUBURBS WE DON'T WANT AND CAN'T AFFORD!") *Cough*
