Honestly, its a good re-use for these buildings. I hope the glass just looks more translucent than any specific colour... Really makes me want to see International Place go up because this whole area would be like our equivalent of a "stock exchange" type district. Is there anything in the old Peddler's location?
Has there been any more info on what's happening with the Morse's sign? It looks crap all white... I hope they don't go corporate and restore it to something.
Frankly I expected better from the people behind Pizza Delight... their pizza is the best!
Sure it's chain food but it is actually quite good for chain food...at least here in Quebec where the food quality is quite noticeably different and better than in the rest of the country. I have a friend that, born and raised in Quebec, spent almost a year in Winnipeg and suffered major problems due to the food quality...I myself also notice a difference when I travel to other provinces and especially the States
As for pizza...no one had had good pizza till you've eaten Santarpio's in Boston...to die for.

The buildings whose facades are being preserved didn't really look like much when this photo was taken, which I assume from the nice old slabside Chrysler was probably mid-1970s (the car is a '67 or '68). Also note the doghouse on top of the Morses Tea building c/w signage.

I remember that area in the 1970's and it wasn't a pretty sight. I remember downtown Halifax being covered in the dirty fallout of the downtown generation plant (now the NSPI headquarters). I also remember when downtown building facades started to be cleaned of their layer of filth.
Halifax is certainly a different city than it was in the early 1970's.
