I saw it on a plat that was floating around my office at some point recently. It is going to be a medical office or clinic or hospital of some variety. I don't remember the details. Definitely not residential or retail....

I really hope the Valley Fair theater won't hurt business too bad at the Century 16 in South Salt Lake. That theater is really the only area of vibrancy around here. And it's up the street from my house so it means I don't have to drive or even take public transit to see a movie.

Its pretty crazy how much business century 16 gets. I think it will be affected by the megaplex but not as bad as the Hollywood connection theater.

Yeah I'm thinking it shouldn't be hurt too bad since they'll still get a majority of people from the east side. They'll probably mostly lose the West Valley patrons that skipped over Hollywood Connections (which is pretty run-down) to get there. Hopefully that's not too much.

I imagine that it will be tough for Hollywood Connections to survive though.

After a year or 2 Hollywood Connections was already getting rundown. I remember going there back in high school with friends and floors were sticky and trash all over the place. Just wasn't maintained very well from the start. I really wouldn't care if Hollywood Connections shut down and maybe something much better gets put in its location.

Maybe if the parking were better it wouldn't be so bad, lol. They seriously should've invested in a parking garage when they built it...

How about this as an idea for when Hollywood Connections closes in 6 months. We either demolish it or add onto it and make it the new Convention Center and put a 1000 room hotel straddled over the top of it.

That would be an awful location for a convention center.

It was very much a joke. More like a random thought that I thought would be funny to post since we all have been looking forward to a convention center hotel. I also know how you all enjoy things being outsourced to the burbs.

Hilton Grand Vacations said it plans to open Sunrise Lodge, a timeshare property, within the Canyons Resort in Park City on Nov. 21.

Located at the base of the Sunrise lift, the lodge will be available to the company’s timeshare owners and guests.

The Sunrise Lodge, which features native mountain stonework and a timber frame design, has 83 units that include studios as well as 1-, 2-,3- and 4-bedroom suites.

Spectacular slope-side property to open November 21 at Canyons Resort as 2013 ski season begins

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hilton Grand Vacations (“HGV”) today announced plans to open Sunrise Lodge, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club within the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah as ski season begins this November. Ideally located at the base of the Sunrise lift, which leads to 4,000 acres of world-class ski and snowboard terrain at Canyons Resort, Sunrise Lodge will offer a premier vacation experience for HGV timeshare owners and guests. Earlier this month, HGV was selected by developer Resort Finance America to manage the property and to provide timeshare sales and marketing services.

November 21 marks the official opening date of the 83-unit Sunrise Lodge, enabling guests to be among the first to hit the slopes at the award-winning Canyons Resort, slated to open for the season on November 23. According to Hilton Grand Vacations President Mark Wang, “Park City is an absolutely spectacular destination and the ideal place for a new Hilton Grand Vacations Club resort. It is our privilege to launch Hilton’s timeshare brand in Utah with the debut of Sunrise Lodge. HGV’s selection to bring this gorgeous property to life is a testament to the quality of the vacation experiences we deliver and a reflection of our commitment to innovative brand expansion.”

As the newest ski property in Park City, Sunrise Lodge will offer superb ski-in access to the renowned Canyons Resort. Recently recognized among the Top 10 North American resorts in Ski Magazine’s annual reader survey and just ranked the #4 Ski Resort in North America by Outside magazine, Canyons is Utah’s largest and most dynamic ski and summer resort. Reminiscent of a grand European mountain retreat, Sunrise Lodge features native mountain stonework and timber frame design. The property offers spacious studios as well as 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom suites complete with inviting living areas and well-appointed kitchens; outdoor heated pool and whirlpool spas, fitness facilities, and ideal amenities including onsite ski equipment rental, complimentary high-speed internet, as well as complimentary year-round shuttle service within Park City.

According to Kim Kreiger, HGV Senior Vice President Club and Resorts, “We anticipate strong interest in Park City vacation reservations at the new Sunrise Lodge and the resort experience itself will be remarkable...

West Valley City • With the help of some redevelopment money, construction is expected to begin soon on a shopping center estimated to generate $3.1 million a year in new retail sales and add about 100 jobs to this west-side community.

The West Valley City Council, sitting as the Redevelopment Agency board, voted Tuesday to allocate $65,000 for Ut Nguyen to put toward construction costs and property improvements for his future International Market Center, 1920 W. 3500 South.

Nguyen plans to connect the new shopping center to his existing Little Saigon Plaza to the east. The International Market will add 10 tenant spaces totaling 18,000 square feet for retail establishments, restaurants or offices...

For a area that is being used as a mix-use urban area, having a ONE story building seems like a waste to what little land is there already. There should be a zoning rule that no development in the fireclay area will be any less then 3-stories.
