How about;

The Gatewatch - in honour of the anti-submarine nets that were deployed in the Halifax Harbour during WWII.

Aspire Point - in honour of the impact King's Wharf will have on Dartmouth's bright future. The light at the end of the tunnel.

Two Shores / Twin Shores - signifies the towers location at the junction of the Southern and Eastern Shores of Nova Scotia.

Did anyone check out the photos for the model suite? Looks nice, but they might want to take a can of Pledge and a dustcloth to that coffee table...

This site plan shows what I thought was the old layout, which (I thought) had been updated and revamped to this:

source: http://thechronicleherald.ca/dcw/62240-olive-predicts-king-s-wharf-will-spur-downtown-renaissance

..with taller buildings in the block between King St. and Prince St., and a high density pedestrian retail street at the South end (in the middle of the block, facing the iconic tower)? In fact, a sketch of this area is on another part of the updated website:

Or maybe I had the new and old designs confused, but they even made the effort to build a scale model? Either way, I like the above a lot better and I hope they go with that.

Actually, this website shows even better what I'm talking about (sorry for the big pictures, I don't know how to scale them down):

Hmm.. those are interesting. At this point they're only working on the first four buildings. After that comes the tower, so the western end of the development is pretty far off and it's easy to imagine the design changing before it is actually built. It's not uncommon for projects like this to go through many dramatically different design iterations before construction. Unfortunately, there's a tendency for the most interesting/expensive features to be stripped down, but the quality of the first two King's Wharf buildings makes me think that the others will be pretty good too.

I agree that the narrower curved walkway looks better. In fact those sketches look great. If the right commercial tenants were to move in that could be a popular spot. I wish the Bedford waterfront had something like that instead of a weak assortment of condos, a park, and a sewage plant.

In addition to the King's Wharf stuff the GHA website has some sketches of the seaport area. They include some work that has already been done, like the farmers' market, but also an addition to the southern end of the brick warehouse building on Marginal Road and a "future development site". Some new construction like that would add a lot to the area; there are some nice attractions already but it needs a bigger year-round base of residents and workers.

I could also see the Discovery Centre move and Cunard development adding a lot to the seaport area, and tying it in with Bishop's Landing.

In a few years I hope that King's Wharf and the seaport will be connected seamlessly with the respective downtowns. Halifax has great bones but it still needs to fill in some of the transitional areas that in the past were industrial buildings and are now parking lots.

Sad to say I've seen this for real working customer service at Sobeys. Had to refuse to sell mouthwash to someone who was obviously going to drink it.(yes, we're allowed to do that).

too true, reminds me of Murray McLaughlin's "honky red".
When I saw him at the Cohn in '76 he made the aqua velva reference

Although this image has been posted before, this seems to be a larger size.

Is construction currently taking place? Have the piles been driven for either tower 3 or tower 4?
