Hamilton is bigger than Winnipeg and Regina with a "market area" of all of South Western Ontario. 3 million people the Ti-Cats pitch to each year and enjoy fan support from if the CFL is their thing.

Considering Winnipeg is sticking a partial roofing system on the thing you realize that Winnipeg Stadium is actually a better bargain. I have no idea what Hamilton is spending 120$ million on. Maybe its just inflation but you could build that thing for $80 million if you ask me.

Hamilton is building a Tin-shed because it botched the process from Day one and this was literally a last minute plan they dug out of the blue it seems.

Yikes, Hamilton. That's not very pleasant. Going off the video, I do not even see any endzone seating. I like the idea of a bowl - it makes the stadium feel far more intimate in my opinion. I hope everything works out for you all.

What a let down for the Hamilton Stadium, even for the price!

I know it might sounds like apple and oranges, but another comparison could be Montreal's Saputo Stadium for the Impact, total cost around 40millions for a seating capacity slightly over 20k. Convert a similar stadium for football, add more grandstand, and it would still be better looking than that proposal for hamilton for the price!

Agree 100% Hamilton needs to bite the bullet and build a proper football stadium. This is a city of 750,000 people but you wouldn't know it judging by that design.

It would be fine if they wanted to compete with the Monctons of this world.

Moncton- the CFL's ninth city (two regular season's games in the last two years).

I think our stadium compares quite favourably to the new stadium that Hamilton is building.

I guess that Hamilton's effort is just further proof that the facilities in Moncton are almost to CFL standards already!

CFL just needs to stick a team there in Atlantic Canada already! I know sniffing out legit ownership and locking down a legit facility is key but the support is there.

No kidding, the CFL should tell Hamilton to shove their proposed high school stadium and move the Ti-cats to Atlantic Canada. Can Hamilton get anything right.

Ugh just know the City isn't responsible for this. It's entirely to blame the Ti Cats organization. They've robbed the City's West Harbour stadium plans. The Ti Cats got the stadium they wanted and a whopping 180 parking spots. They requested 22,500 seat stadium, they requested the City not host Athletics because of the track around the stadium, they are the ones who requested the IWS land.

There's rumour Council may end up pulling the plug on it's contribution towards the stadium.

Good to hear Hamilton will take no credit for the poor attempt at a new stadium, condolences to the fans of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the city of Hamilton, the CFL, the steel industry, Canada....

How has the feedback been locally? I know here, where the majority of us are interested in design and the like, absolutely think it's a joke, but are there some people who are happy with simply getting a new stadium. I've seen that before, but their joy turns to sombreness as soon as you show what Winnipeg is building for the Blue Bombers.

And that rumour, any validity to it? Would have huge respect to City Council if they did do it. West Harbour was awesome if you asked me. Personally, I thought a lake-side stadium near Confederation Park would be the best location, but that's not to be.

Your eternal optimism is refreshing, but its more a case of neither stadium being good enough for the CFL. Moncton punched way above its weight with its stadium while Hamilton has done the opposite. Hamilton's is still better, but not by much.

Winnipeg's stadium should be held up as a model to be copied. I'd rather have another 4 identical replicas built than leave Hamilton, Ottawa, Quebec City, Halifax, etc. to their own devices.
