(Imagine all that stadium site potential lost to 20% target, 80% parking).
Anyways, I am really curious about this $20M promise to improve traffic flows... I'd really like to see what they are proposing to do to the Polo Park road network. I'd like to see a complete rebuild-repave of St. James, with long left and right turn lanes added wherever possible, 3-laning of Empress, with centre lane for left turns, (4-laning may not be possible given the creek), and left / right turn lanes added wherever possible elsewhere.

Unless the proposal has changed, the sea of parking should be enough to sustain people without the removal of any at grade access to a retail outlet.
Sorry, I am still really bitter that a) this development is going up after seeing what could have gone up with the residential (despite it being a pipe dream), and b) that Shindico is heading this garbage only makes it worse, considering they ruined the gravesite of our previous sports complex.
Don't get me wrong I have no problem with the idea of a Super Target, it is the lack of developed space that gets me. This is going to be the site of our old stadium in the heart of the biggest retail district - and probably extremely valuable piece of land - in the Prairie's. Surely a more "World Class" (as they say) design could have been made.
Does it surprise me that Shindico got it? Nope. Because it seems any procuring of land is followed by that bloody name....
Anyways to lighten up the mood here is a pic from me. Sorry it is in the Construction thread, but lets face it, that is where all the traffic is.
