The only thing I'll say is that you should think about the fact that your prejudice is actually counter-productive to your end goal. As a Native person when I read, "do more to remove natives from the area", I almost feel not welcome. Like I can't be part of the solution. I know I'm being over-dramatic but exaggeration does help to get a point across.
We're all citizens of Winnipeg, let's work to improve this city... together.

i never meant to offend anyone but unfortunately that is the prejudice that exists in most winnipegers minds. I personally blame the govt for keeping some minority groups down and setting up unfair policies and rules to suppress them even more. i know plenty of hardworking natives who contribute so much to the city, on the other hand most ignorant canadian's generalize and assume certain groups only leech off the system and put no effort towards bettering themselves or their community. When in reality the system was designed for some groups to fail no matter how hard they try.
bottom line is there is a reason the south part of winnipeg is the most attractive and expensive area in the city to live and the core is the worst and the cheapest. Because certain ideas and thoughts are synonymous with winnipeg's core. poverty, gangs, drugs, violence and which groups of people occupy and live in the poorest parts of the city u guessed it natives and immigrants. Until the way people think changes thier attitude never will i want downtown winnipeg to succeed but in order for that too happen the core needs to do what it takes to clean itself and change the attitudes people have towards it. in any other major city the core is the most expensive real estate not cheapest.
convention center expansion, center point, waterfront, assinboine ave, the forks, and the exchange are all improving, but main street between selkirk and higgins and most of the areas north of ellice are still rampant in crime drugs and prostitution and these areas are just feet away from dt thats whats hurts the investment into the core the most. im still positive tho that winnipeg dt will be the best place to live in winnipeg in 5 to 10 years i really do
