Anyone spot ACA851 B773 LHR-YYC stopping briefly to drop off an unruly passenger today at YEG?

Interjet may have ordered this plane because the up front costs are less but its short history is terrible. First the crash at an air show and now Armavia doesn't want the plane. Typical of Russian made jets. Cheap but the fuel and maintenance costs will kill an airline.

Until you see a North American or 'Western' European airline buy the plane, the orders mean nothing. You would have thought that the first airline to purchase these jets on this side of the Atlantic would have been Cubana. I wouldn't be surprised if Interjet cancels their orders and i agree with others i don't think it has the range to serve YEG.

Cubana bought the smaller An-148. Both it and the super jet seem to be having problems ramping up production however.

I've flown in an Il-86 and it was pretty cool. Lots of thrust and massive interior. I've also been in a Tupolev 154, and a Yak-40. The only time I have ever felt unsafe in a commercial .... ur uh well, any type of aircraft was in a Yak-40. Incidently, the passengers who were taxied (by bus) to their aircraft prior to being taxied to my flight crashed and everyone on board was killed except for 5.

I was also on the TU154 and I swear the take-off and landing made it feel like I now know what carrier landings are like. Only problem I had was everyone smoked and the American scientists were shooting Champagne corks around the plane.

Is there a place someone could look at the reason for a planes' diversion? Reason I ask is AC 898 from YEG --> LHR on Aug. 15 looks like it stopped in Greenland (Kangerlussuaq would be my assumption) for a few hours. Just curious as to why.

The Aviation Herald is a good source, although most of the incidents listed there are due to mechanical issues. So a diversion due to a sick passenger/disruption may not make the list:

I gotta say you guys have a very nice airport up there. It has changed a lot since I was last through it back in 2005.

Edmonton has finally stepped its game up, I'm impressed! If only I had an excuse to fly up to Edmonton (instead of driving) more often.
