The plane was an old 4-seater with windows that opened quite wide.

The whole experience was actually quite amazing, and not as expensive as one might think. Getting a couple of people up there is significantly cheaper than 2 tickets for a hot air balloon ride.

That's actually really neat

Thanks for sharing man, excellent pictures...really nice shots

(You should add some of these to the skyline thread too, these are really beautiful given the sunset appearance)

Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation has said these type of "Diamond" interchanges, in open rural areas cost between $10 and $15 million dollars. Costs escalate quickly when expropriation of urban properties, lift stations, utility relocation's and detours are added to the mix in a city environment.

Bryan, your complete set is amazing. Very talented.

....I just had a CMHR tour this morning and all i have to say is WOW. I can't emphasize that word enough. The interior space is incredible and HUGE. They could actually complete the building and not put any exhibits in it and still charge just for the ability to wander through and explore. The way it winds and leads you through the story it will tell will definitely be an experience. The volume in the Great Hall is mind blowing. The ramps criss-crossing through the museum, the back lit alabaster set against the giant black concrete wall is really something to see.

I have pictures and will try to load some later. I am no photographer and unfortunately they were shot on my Iphone (i'm a guy and didn't plan ahead).

I think, unfortunately you have to know the project manager from the prime contractor or the architect.

^ those buildings are apparently in very poor condition, and visibly out of level from the outside.

I don't think the past 10 years have been kind to them (developer limbo, multiple owners, etc.) and I would doubt very much they will be there for long.

If the price says anything about their condition... I wouldn't expect them to stay standing too long.

That really is too bad. Those are cheaper than a small bungalow in Ontario. Too bad I don't have the cash lying around, I would love to invest in that. I would fix it up myself and rent or sell as apartments or condos.

A few of those photo's show just how great of a potential there is for a couple of urban canyons both on Carlton (once MPI, and Convention Centre are done) as well as Smith if there was some infill there. East of Smith really needs an overhaul in terms of development. Here's hoping for the continued boom of our downtown.

Excellent pictures.

You should submit those to the City Photos thread.

If you know a pilot, it's free.

i have a couple buddies who are pilots and whenever they need to get hours i hop along with them.....even get to use the instruments sometimes im just impressed that the pilot was able to fly directly over winnipeg airspace, everytime i fly out of Carp,Ontario we are not allowed to fly over ottawa....but then i guess there is hightened security concerns here

I seem to recall that the Bathgate Block was for sale about 6/7 years ago for much the same money as today.

Poor Barber & Barber, so much of their built work has since been demolished.

How sad that there is nothing going on in terms of construction...

Is anyone else annoyed with Graham Ave? There is so much potential for this stretch. Any proposals out there?
