Apparently the name of that project at 5453 is "Burnet Park". I wasn't able to find any files for 6601 or 6701 Burnet Road, but I did find heights for those other ones.

Here is the permit/case number: 2011-046822 SP for Burnet Park.

Super awesome! For like ever I didn't like going north of 35th, but over the past year I have been going up to even North Loop a lot. So many cool things in that part of town now. Lots of potential. And some of these look pretty cool.

From those pictures it is kind of hard to figure out the Burnet Place. Like the pictures in deerhhoof's post show that the street part has what looks like street retail. And then in the picture in Jon's post one of them has the Cafe sign, but with that glass it is hard to tell how much street retail there really is. I'm guessing it is going to be there? Don't know. But hope so. It looks good.

Burnet Road has been in transition for over ten years - and the pace of change is accelerating. 20 years ago Burnet was the worst eyesore in Austin - a jumble of parking lots and commercial signs for fading businesses. Now, with 78704 becoming so overpriced, the southern part of Burnet is becoming a go to place for new restaurants and cool residential development. We'll be calling it Sobu before you know it.

I found something about some proposed utility construction tapping into an existing 12 inch water line and the address range for that was 85-99 Trinity Street.

Go here and click on the very bottom link.

I think this may be the conceptual site plan and it's listed on the City's website as Trinity Place.

Yep, I saw that too. Looks like Wood Partners' conceptual site plan is interestingly timed with Hixon's sale of the site to WCCG. A little research on Wood Partners reveals they have a pretty good reputation in the multi-family world and this would be their first project in Austin. Even with lakeside apartments to the south, a 6-9 story structured parking garage would allow clear lake views for most of a residential tower. Of course, Lakeside is nearly condemnable, so perhaps this is an opportunity for the city to partner with a larger development to provide a modernized affordable housing component. Also, I'm a little surprised the convention center hasn't pursued this site for future expansion. Either way, it's exciting to see something happening on this site.

Great news and just as I suspected (have been saying all along):
Quote:
Circuit of the Americas has sold out of three-day general admission tickets to Austin’s U.S. Formula One Grand Prix race set for Nov. 16-18.

Fans in every U.S. state and 37 countries bought tickets since public sales began three months ago, Geoff Moore, COTA chief marketing and revenue officer said in a press release.
Source: http://www.bizjournals.com/austin/ne...a-tickets.html

37 COUNTRIES, WOW! All 50 U.S. States!! 4 months left until the race and no tickets left to sell! Not even SXSW can claim appeal from a sold-out crowd coming from all 50 states and 37 other countries!

That is awesome for F1! =)

But just a correction on the SXSW thing. People from far more than 37 countries come to SXSW. I mean just the bands alone, and just the official showcased bands come from every state and almost 60 different countries (over 700 foreign bands from 58 countries this year). There is no telling how many other countries bands play at non-official events.

If that's the case then Austin really has to get to work on Bergstrom International Airport. Seriously, for a place that's no doubt going to become one of America's top 15 or 20 largest metros it really needs a much larger, busier, productive facility.

Cool, you got some West Campus photos. I've been meaning to get up there. Two of the tallest buildings under construction in Austin are in West Campus. 2400 Nueces at 180 feet and Callaway House at 205 feet.

Much to the dismay of so many in this neighborhood up here. They prefer the shabby, hideous looking low density that is mostly Burnet Rd. now. I'm looking forward to the change.

North Burnet RD is ugly. A lot of those old shopping centers have been re-purposed more than once, and they have long since seen better days.

Whoa! RiverView apartments look huge! When I was there in March they did not look that big at all. It looks very impressive.
