Holborn is just one part of a vast family business. 'Shareholder approval' means mom and dad gave the okay.

It seems unlikely that it will become -even partially - The Ritz Carlton. As such, I wonder if it will be hotel / residential and / or commercial or what. And I wonder what title and image it will finally have when built. I wish it could have still been the Ritz Carlton. This would have given the city a certain "cachet."

Personal opinion: I believe next step would be to launch REIT for their hospitality business. Raise funds and begin construction of this project.

Unlike my previous post about a crane installation which turned out to be just a crane lift... This time it looks like we will infact see a crane installation at the end of the month.

Quote:
White Water Concrete will be installing a tower crane at 1151 W Georgia St. between 6:30am - 9:30pm. Traffic on W. Georgia will be reduced to single lane in each direction during this installation.

Traffic delays can be expected. Alternate routes are advisable.

Project Start: 2012/07/29 Expected Completion: 2012/07/29

But if PCL is off the site why is the crane being installed? Are they doing this in house now?

Will be a sight for sore eyes when the crane is standing, but I will not be celebrating until I see it above grade.

I wouldn't celebrate until its completed considering there used to be a shell of a building on this exact site...

Wholly deep excavation Batman.

If this isn't the deepest excavation in downtown Vancouver for a tower, might it be the deepest on a hole-depth-to-site-area ratio? I.e. the deepest / smallest hole?
