Same, I honestly hate the trump, and would hate for such a iconic tower (for Vancouver) to be known as trump Vancouver, or something like that.

Honestly, the guy must have the world's largest ego.

At least he wouldn't be allowed to plaster his name all over the top of the building.

I think Erickson would roll over in his grave if that lobby were installed at Vancouver's Turn:

The service and design of the Trump (interior at least, such as rooms) makes it one of the best hotels in teh country, above Royal York.

Total agreement here. Also, it's a reflection on Toronto (perhaps) how they cater to worshipping US financial "heroes" by putting up such "monuments" named after Trump. Kind of crass, IMHO

A crane yes.. but unfortunately for what looked like a HVAC unit for the HSBC tower across the street. Still looks like a long way to go before a concrete base for a crane could be poured.

Rumour swirling around this morning that PCL is off the site. Haven't received any confrimation but I've heard it from 2 sources already and it's not even 9am. Hope they're wrong as they've already done thru everyone else.

So what could that mean? It's being cancelled again?

Oh man. What a joke. Now I'm starting to miss the empty concrete shell of a club...

If Holborn can't seem to get along with any of the GCs in this city, how is Little Mountain going to get built? It's amazing the problems they seem to have had without even pouring concrete yet. While excavation is time consuming and expensive, it isn't really terribly complicated or different than any other excavation, except this one is a bit deeper.

Holborn should just give up on Vancouver and sell the entire development to another developer. Somebody reputable, like Westbank, would have had this thing built already.

Good to hear, was PCL still onsite as well or just the excavting company? Perhaps they've gone inhouse for the general contractor.

Awesome news. Is there a timeline for when concrete should begin pouring?
