Glad to be of help, GregG. After emerging from the tunnel the line would stay on the south side of the CPR until it crosses over to the north side just east of Moray Street / Golden Spike Ln.

It is not promising if the Port Moody radius map is wrong since it was just released (as far as I know). Not that it makes a huge difference but it does not inspire much confidence.

Also, the Evergreen site does say "The Evergreen Line will emerge from the tunnel just east of Barnet Highway. It will travel at ground level along the south side of the Canadian Pacific Rail (CPR) ..."

http://www.evergreenline.gov.bc.ca/route_and_stations.htm

So, it looks like the Evergreen Line then crosses over to the north side of the CPR just before the Ioco station.

That Port Moody radius map also has a disclaimer as to station location.

I've been wondering for a while if the track will return back to track level after Ioco Station or stay at the top of the ravine.. I know that some of the sloped land on the northern edge is zoned for and reserved for light rail.

COQUITLAM - The Evergreen Line rapid transit project is continuing to move forward with a tender posted for work to prepare for the relocation of Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) tracks in Port Moody.
Its June, pretty much officially summer in two weeks....still no news on the three possible primary contractors...

Port Moody proposed station location

As a resident of Port Moody, it makes total sense to me to plan a station in a location that allows for future transit serviced development.

Hey - that other link re: Coquitlam - has this:

As well, if the project is approved, Polygon would contribute $1 million to the city for its planned Evergreen Line station at Lincoln Avenue and Pinetree Way, and $500,000 for Phase 2 of the Glen Park redevelopment.

It would have been better if the brand name tenants (Apple, Sephora, etc.) did not set up shop at Coquitlam Centre until the station's confirmed. However it's just a wishful thinking on my behalf.

I don't know Coquitlam well the Windsor Gate development even close to Lincoln Station?
I would expect the bulk of any private funding to come from Morguard - the owner of Coquitlam Centre.

It's about 2 blocks, or a 500 metre walk.

Its officially summer, still no updates on the primary contractor. The three month countdown begins, I suppose....

Also, in case some miracle happens and they do announce the preferred primary contractor, note that even then, nothing is final until the contracts have been signed. And if the winner is SNC Lavalin, nothing is final until the trains are up and running...

Awesome!
I'm glad that they were able to put this unqiue funding arrangement together to get this station added!

That's the way to do it - get the adjacent shopping mall to help pay for the station!

That is very good news indeed, thanks to The Harper Government for pitching in.

In all seriousness though, it would have been a pretty unfortunate move to not include Lincoln from the get go. Coquitlam Central Station's placement at the southernmost end of the park and ride lot makes it really inconvenient from the bulk of Coquitlam Centre and the surrounding area.

The article doesn't actually say how much the owners of Coquitlam Centre are pitching in - but they're the ones who will benefit the most - so this is a good precedent.

I'm still far from being a Harper fan, but he did bring the transit pass tax credit and is helping move transit projects forward.
