Yes, apparently it will be lit from underneath so that all the ramps cross-crossing between the large open area inside the museum will glow. It should look amazing when done.

I love it, and can hardly wait till it airs on TV ( I think someone was saying Discovery Channel was making an episode for it, or another station ).

But what is funny is now that it is getting closer to being done, if you go back to when this thread was started, you see all the nay sayers running it down, who now actually like it.

I believe there is one in the WPG construction thread a few pages back on a link to the Free Press. I may be wrong but pretty sure that they took a few.

Either way, once this place is done with the glass and landscaping done this fall, and then hopefully lit up by next year at night, it should be amazing. Be really cool if they shot / shoot a beam of white light out the top at night, kinda like they did for the WTC memorial.

This obviously ain't a recent photo, but it's lookin' West across the Red River from the French Quarter. I took it a few months ago, yet it still highlights to me the scale of this building set within her surroundings.

So now on top of the $351 million in tax dollars spent to build this thing another $70 million loan (which will never be repaid) is going into the abyss called the CMHR. That is now $421 million for those of you who like numbers and for those who still think spending a sum this large on something the public has no appetite for and could have been more wisely spent elsewhere in the city.

Two questions for Gail and the other CMHR proponents, when Gail said the CMHR would never come back to any level of govt. for more funds was she holding her fingers crossed behind her back and secondly, how much in private donations were really raised and that answer would be NOT VERY MUCH, this damn thing was built on lies that funding was in place!

I think you misread that. The total cost is still pegged at 351 Million.

I'll say this. If the plan was to make the big bulky middle portion indeed look like the clouds/sky, then mission accomplished.

Aesthetically, I think I would have liked the Tower of Hope to be the same colour/style of frit. But what do I know?
