You need to be pretty darn careful about using copyrighted images. If you don't have the copyright holder's permission, you risk legal action.

Creative Commons (CC) licensed images are also not unconditionally free. You need to credit the original photographer for his/her work and also allow any derivative works you created to be re-used for free under the same license. Why do I know this? I release most of my photos under CC and I have found many of them re-used without proper attribution.

That is a gorgeous mosaic! Great work!

Can someone update Saskatoon's skyscraper page (in the database), I need to add my diagrams of River Landing Residential and Office to the database. The office isn't in the database and the residential needs to be edited to 27 stories and 92 meters.

Hmmmm I'm not sure then! I always just uploaded my own photos. Perhaps between all of us we could get some killer shots of the city and create our own mosaic, then we don't need to worry about copyright anything.

I just have to point out how much I love the little people in the RL render! It's rare to see people so small in Saskatoon!

Tourism Saskatoon has a lot of great, high rez pics of the city. If you contact them they may be willing to allow use of their images on wikipedia.

They're calling it "feature glazing", and its final colour will be determined by the building's lead tenant. Basically, it sounds like whatever company gets to put their logo on top of the building will be able to reflect their corporate colour(s) on the building's exterior through this feature glazing.

Does anyone know what's up with these renderings?!?

I came across them while looking for something totally unrelated to a Cameco skyscraper...

It would be cool if someone could put something like that together for Saskatoon with say the city scape, the U of S, 2nd Ave, Broadway and the Bess. I tried it one day and got nowhere.

Edit: I'm gonna try again. Anyone have any suggestions I didn't list?
Ha and it's only that because I changed it a few months ago. Before that picture, there was a very dreary winter shot of downtown from Sask Crescent, taken with the Bessborough in front. I googled Saskatoon, looked in images, and the first one was that shot, which conveniently was already on Wikipedia somewhere. But you're right, I'd like to see a collage too.

Also, I second Chadillaccc... nice work. I'd like to see that on the wiki page.

This one (from the same website as the Cameco rendering) seems to be new too, and I haven't heard of any news about it.

http://www.jcakinarchitect.ca/index.php

A fairly run-of-the-mill condo, but fairly tall for the area and located at Arlington and Louise (from what I can tell by the small apartment building in the back, at the right edge of the rendering). Tough to tell if the lane in front of the building is Louise or if it's the back alley just north of it. At any rate, another seniors' condo for the Market Mall area?

Well I changed the Wiki page to feature the montage. I'm sure if someone comes out complaining about copyright it will just be taken down.

and isn't that skyscraper where the Co-op building is right now? I think it's just someone showing off their abilities and isn't actually a real thing, nothing to get excited about.

I believe it's where Hudsons is now. The old John Prime Rib location and yes I agree that its probably some one's wishful thinking. That said, it's a great looking building and fantastic rendering.

Also good job on the wiki page Morogolus.

Just a tip on the grid, I would line up the lines to make it more organised. It looks a bit amateur b/c of the lines not lining up! Good luck!

So what does that rendering mean? Is this just an architect that is playing around or is it for real?

íf anyone has access to the database it would be great if you could add the River Landing office and hotel towers to the list. I have a drawing for the office completed and ready for upload and have already added my drawing of the residential tower.

His pic is pretty consistent with those used for other city profiles on wikipedia. ex: . I think it's great except some of the pictures in it are a little blurry, perhaps due to being resized and compressed once or twice while editing the pic. Really great source pictures, though, and a huge improvement over the last picture (and it sure beats Regina's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regina,_Saskatchewan).
