City Centre Plan RFP

April 5, 2012 was the deadline for submitting a proposal in response to this RFP. Does anyone know if it has been made public yet which consulting firm was awarded the contract?

See RFP below:

The Civic Plaza Precinct Masterplan - 2013

Looks like the design of the Civic Plaza plan will happen (be completed?) by 2013.

What makes the video funny is that the dude recording it is also a tremendously — driver. He needs to relax and start using his eyes and brain. I hate being in vehicles with people like him.

See RFP below:

The award of contract begins on p. 358 of the June 18 Council agenda: http://www.saskatoon.ca/CITY%20COUNCIL/Documents/m2012/fa_council_180612.pdf

The chosen team is comprised of Stantec, Greenberg Consultants, Marc Wouters, and Fast Consulting.

Great to see that someone like Ken Greenberg will be part of the project.

That guy is a spaz. Half the time the people turning left in front of him would have plenty of time to finish their turn before he got there except he had to lay on the horn and speed up to prove how much more important he is. He went through at least one red light (I didn't watch the whole video...) The one around 2:19 where the blue car was changing lanes, the other guy did nothing wrong. He put on his signal light and had plenty of room but this guy decided he had no right to be there so laid on the horn (effectively slowing the guy down) and acted as though he was wronged somehow. Then at one point it looked like he and another car were both changing lanes from the right and left outside lane to the middle lane at the same time. Why is the other guy any more of a jerk than he is?

Last summer we were driving through Saskatoon and a guy cut us off, no signal light (had to slam on the brakes so we didn't hit him and almost got rear ended) and he laid on the horn as though we had somehow wronged him. Looking back, it was probably this guy.

PS What is that guy even doing at 3:34??

Blue Cross offices on 2nd Avenue

The three properties to the north of the Blue Cross building on 2nd Avenue are fenced off and there is placard indicating that they are expanding.

Any other info on this?

EDIT: Nevermind.

A much discussed topic on this thread is our cities suburbs growth. I found this website that clearly illustrates the expanse of Canada and Canadian cities in regard to other countries and cities in the world.

He really enjoys that horn! I like how he does not hesitate when navigating busy intersections (Avenue P and 22nd) where oncoming left turning cars can't see him approaching. What a goof.

Amazing Very clean and aesthetically pleasing, much better than previous designs. I'm looking forward to see this area of the river/meewasin trail populated and busy. It's kind of out of the way as it is right now.

I see Rio Tinto is beginning to advertise for positions for their uranium development (saskjobs.ca) - anybody know where their offices are going to be?

Does anyone in the forum have the know-how to edit Saskatoon's Wiki page? All the other major centres across Canada have a mosaic of pictures with all the landmarks and the city scape. All we have is a ho hum picture of the Broadway bridge. It would be cool if someone could put something like that together for Saskatoon with say the city scape, the U of S, 2nd Ave, Broadway and the Bess. I tried it one day and got nowhere.

Edit: I'm gonna try again. Anyone have any suggestions I didn't list?
