Here's a write up Ginty made about a bunch of us going to the York Hotel one glorious saturday afternoon. Damn, that was a good day. We had visited most of the classics and he just never got around to writing them up. Enjoy that dive bar in the sky you lovely bastard.

What is the stabby pub beside the Future Ukrainian Museum? Did it shut down? That would be a sweet place for a nice pub and condo/loft conversion. It all comes down to Quarters redevelopment momentum though.
Unless your afraid of old bearded men singing sea shanties you got nothing to worry about.

That was such a great project. Too bad it had to be cut short. The downtown/ inner city dive bar is becoming a rarity....York gone, That one south of the cop shop gone, THe writings' on the wall for the Grand, Reno Pub is closed, And Green Frogs on 118th got taken over by the artists so it's only scary if you are afraid of hippie granola types.

There's always the Ming Kee. Now that's a scary place. The crack dealers don't like an audience.

Soon Redford will say I cant have two drinks and drive responsibly with out getting punished. So I better take advantage of our freedom before big brother or sister in this case closes the door on responsible drivers who just want a couple Moose Head and some apps and enjoy a game at a sports lounge.

Unless you're 135 pounds and plan on not eating and drink those two pints two in less than an hour you should be fine.

Don't want to sound like a Tory-booster, but if you think the Liberals or (especially) the NDP would be less obsequious toward public-health interest groups then you're delusional. The latter interests groups have the unquestioning obediance of the news media and therefore all political parties are terrified of them.

If nobody's interested in NHL Draft beer (see what I did there?), let's move on then.

Construction/development news:

* CBC is reporting that the remediation @ Whyte Ave Esso site is done, ready for sale by end of year.
* Apparently Anthem's plans for the Molson site were not impressive, according to those who attended presentation

The benefits of downtown urban living should be obvious to you.

Didn't they move because the City Centre Airport was being shutdown, I guess it wasn't such a big problem.

Who said? You did with your "soon Redford won't let me" stab.

Naming a specific politician is a textbook example of ranting about a party's political stripes. If you really meant to be apolitical, you should have said "the man" or "the gubbamin".
