I really like that Montreal building actually. As whiteford said, the color scheme really is great. Looks great.

Lastest render for Tour avenue des Canadiens. Looks like the architects (Ibi/CHBA) did this one without much imagination. Oh well, sleek enough with 48 storeys (including 7 storeys of parking in the podium).

^ Not as nice as the original 61 storey render, but I have a weakness for black towers, so I'll take it. I'm glad that most of the proposed high-rises in Montreal generally aren't all clones of each other.

True. And so far, almost no green glass Vancouver/City Place clones, which we have to be thankfull for.

Dull. Materials and finish could make it interesting but it will still be... dull.

Quebec City's proposals are obviously not centered around height but the City keeps coming up with interesting midrises and urban planning these days. The following one is another so called eco-neighbourhood situated near downtown. The City had launched a contest for this specific piece of land and several consortiums had put forwards interesting bids. The following video shows the winning renders of what is supposed to become a neighbourhood with 1786 housing units and 200 000 s.f. of retail space.

It's the current design and the final design will be the same with maybe a few tweaks.

That base looks very familiar..... kinda like TIFF

Infact it is a clone of the TIFF Tower podium.

I like how the podium matches the scale of the other buildings on the block. That's how you use a podium.

By the way, the podium of the Montreal's tower is hiding 7 storeys of parking, since they can't dig for parking on that space.

While similar to the TIFF Tower podium, I wouldn't call it generic.
