Quebec City's convention center is going ahead with its $36M expansion plan. In order to to do so, a small underground shooping mall situated next to the center has been purchased. This mall, with its food court and now defunct cinema, used to be popular but has been progressively deserted over the last two decades. The bulk of the money will thus serve to retrofit the additional 69 160 s.f. of space to serve the convention center's needs.

MTCC is underground so I'm not sure how you would incorporate a glass facade

Weird, then what am I walking past over here, hmm?

Sometimes I wonder if you've ever been to Toronto.

You're not the only one that wonders that. He does say the oddest things.

True, I'm getting a little ahead of myself however, the north building was sold and by this time next year won't be a part of the MTCC complex. Eventually, it will be demo'd and replace by two office towers and an expanded business/conference centre for the hotel.

The feelings are mutual. Even heighters would have difficulty with the appropriateness of 400 metre towers at the corner of Avenue Rd and Yorkville .

You guys want more ugly?
Check out this proposal from the eastern edge of Vancouver proper (close to the Joyce skytrain station):
It thankfully was rejected by the Urban Design Panel.
