Very nice. Love the lounge. Was at the DBA lunch today where EIA did an overview of the new expansion.

New airport features aim for better first impression of Edmonton

EDMONTON — The opening of the new Canada Arrivals Hall gives a warmer welcome to international and U.S. arrivals, say Edmonton International Airport officials.

The latest stage of the airport’s Expansion 2012 opened this week with the first phase of an expanded Canada Border Services Agency area.

Officials hope three works of art and decoration — a light-refracting sculpture hanging from the ceiling called The Raven, a wall of musical dancing lights beside the moving sidewalk and a living wall of tropical plants — will give foreign travellers a better first impression of Edmonton before they go through customs.

“We wanted to create something special for people arriving in Edmonton, or even Canada, for the first time,” said Paul Garbiar, vice-president of infrastructure and technology for the airport, during a tour of the facility on Thursday.

There is an RSS Feed - but for all Edmonton threads in Skyscraper but not specific to YEG - International Airport. At least that is how I see it. But I do not see that it "pushes" to the RSS feed (I use newsnetwire) with any regularity.

A little off topic, but funny (wierd funny, not haha funny) nonetheless. When I linked to this, I started looking up other airports in Canada, such as YHM (Hamilton International Airport). This website incorrectly refers to YHM as Toronto Hamilton International Airport. YYZ (Toronto International Airport) and YHM, as I'm sure all of us are aware on here that they are two distinct and separate airports, and wish the person composing that website would clue into that too!

I have been informed that NATO have got rid of all their 707's now...they are meant to lease in 757's, when required. Could it have been an E-3 at all?
Nothing has arrived as of this morning, although the Luftwaffe A310 came and went.

On my latest trip to Edmonton last week, I was very impressed by the new expansion and arrivals hall. Makes Edmonton look much more like a big-time city!

On my back from Whitehorse today. A couple of observations - both the tower and hotel are really coming along, the passenger traffic is noticably higher than last month, while changing in YVR half the flight into YEG was chinese nationals heading here. Also noticed quite a large number of passengers waiting for 747. and the arrivals baggage area really needs some changes to make it more efficient.

we've all said it before, but I hope they find a better company to run the food options out of the US Terminal. That wings place is horrible. Still loving the new area though. Got some good deals at duty free last time for friends down south.
