Both hard and soft are there. We want both for event purposes. Water is very much there, front triangles.

I really like the preliminary design concept for Scott Park. This type of park is by far my favorite, moreso than the more grand open spaces that are actually quite common in Edmonton. One thing I hope that they can implement would be movable chairs and tables, rather than fixed benches. Allowing the park to suit the needs of the people rather than people adapting to the constraints of the park will ultimately make it a more inviting place to be.

Is there a place online where these images are available in a higher resolution? It's difficult to get a feel for the finer details of the design.

Park looks awesome, but I agree - an off-leash area is sorely needed downtown.

We (many) use Dick Mather all the time as it is fenced on 3 sides.

Overall not bad, but not fond of some of the WIC placements and dinning areas. Overall though very good use of space.

An increasing number of Canadians moved into the loft of luxury in the first three months of this year, a report released by ReMax on Tuesday shows.

The real estate franchise's numbers show that 129 more high-end homes sold across the country in the first three months of 2012 compared with the same time last year.

That includes the single priciest condo sold this year in Edmonton, a 2,300-square-foot two-bedroom unit in the Carlisle building overlooking the river valley on 100th Avenue that cost $900,000...

I guess the doggy park is a good idea.... won't be bringing my Gabbers down there, she's still accelerating at 30'! Don't know why downtown dwellers don't want to walk down to the Valley to walk the dogs... and they say suburbanites are lazy!

Had to take a trip out the west end yesterday, The VFTC project looks well underway with shoring going in right now. Also of note, Egdewater/ RK lowrise is up two levels... interesting to see how they market this. Also, Norwood Village on 95st is shoring for the u/g parkade as well.

Location ugly? Killer location. Yup, needs to be more east.

I agree, but in most urban centres, including ours, many would like to have a little park to walk their minipup. Dick Mather park always has a bunch of dogs in it. This is not about being lazy, but having a neighbourhood park.

^ Well, location is ugly now (tire shop to the south, ugly retail and parking strip to the west, commie block mid rise to the north and south-east. faceless YMCA to the east) .... hopefully this park will spruce it up. And hey, I love parks! But from our place a block south of you, I have the Leg, Rossdale green space, Melcor park, Beaver Hills, Churchill, LMP all within easy walking distance, so it's not like options don't exist... We'd probably prefer going to the Leg or LMP over a park at that location.... much more tranquil and scenic

Having said that, I fully support anything that sucks up another dirty gravel parking lot.

My fear is that the park ends up just being a stub like that, and not the full, multi-block idea as proposed by Urban Strategies. Where did this location come from? I though it was suppose to start a 1/2 block south, and head west for 2 full blocks.
