Yes just a longer period for the second Transat holidays flight. Last year the mon flight did not run for the entire summer period my mistake.

Not the most special news but better to support the US routes than flying KLM/WestJet via Calgary, Vancouver or Montreal.

KLM Plans to Expand Codeshare Service with DELTAby JL
Update at 0940GMT 27APR12

DELTA and KLM has filed joint application with the US Department of Transportation, seeking permission for additional codeshare service on DELTA service (operated by Skywest) out of Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

Planned codeshare routes:

Los Angeles – Las Vegas
Los Angeles – Salt Lake City
Los Angeles – San Diego
Los Angeles – San Francisco
Minneapolis – Calgary
Minneapolis – Edmonton
Minneapolis – Regina
Minneapolis – Saskatoon
Minneapolis – Winnipeg

•Buses travel directly from Century Park Transit Centre to the EIA and return.
•The bus service to EIA runs 7 days a week from 5-12:30am. Buses leave every half-hour during peak hours, from 5-9am and from 3-7:30pm, and every hour during off-peak times.
•The fare is $5 dollars cash for a one-way trip or $100 for a monthly pass, not transferable to regular ETS service.
•Luggage racks have been added to the buses to accommodate luggage.
•Free Wi-Fi on buses.
•Bicycles are not allowed.

“We are really impressed with what ETS has done to accommodate our travellers,” said Myron Keehn, Vice President of Commercial Development for EIA. “We are thrilled to partner with ETS to collectively deliver a user-friendly, fast transportation option for both the Capital Region as well as international visitors to our city.”

It appears North Cariboo is *finally* plying their BAC146 on northern Alberta routes. Took off from YYC a little after 7 this morning for YEG and onward to YXJ. Let the fun begin. I heard somewhere that they actually want more of those stubby jets with 5 APUs.

We may have to subsidize the 747 routing for a while, but it is indeed a great service to have for many reasons. I love how I can get from my condo to YEG via LRT and the bus for $5 and in only 50mins.

Lol, a certain company fella used to fly 146's back in the Air BC/Jazz days so I often wonder if that was a personal choice to bring them back to the Alberta skies... He also used to captain a F-28 for Time air and 5T... Imagine a crackling F-28 in cariboo colors!!! Lol!

Only good for mid monring flights....LRT does not start running early enough to allow an early morning connection to the bus from CP. Same at other end of the everning. But it is a start.

You would be hard pressed to make 7am. By then all flights have left to the US and points east.

730 maybe...but not a 7am flight. If they started a wee bit earlier it would be a MUCH busier service.

“I wanted it to be interesting, not just the colour and the textures, but also the depth,” he said. “There’s some trees and shrubs and bushes on here as well which we’re going to let grow about eight feet out of the wall.”

Weinmaster says the plants will also clean the air around the wall.

We've got a couple living walls in the Faculty of Environment here at U.Waterloo. Not nearly as 'full' looking as the one shown at YEG though. To my understanding, it does need constant monitoring and replanting as the die-off, especially in the early stages, can be significant until it takes root well.

I know the company that built this one in the newest Faculty of Environment building at U.Waterloo is on contract to comeback on regular occasions and replant, prune, get ride of dead-mass, etc. Needless to say, it doesn't look as full now as in this picture, but what is there is 'taking root' it does appear.

I suppose that WJ will not open up too many new small markets by introducing these new planes. Lethbridge, Med Hat, Brandon, Kingston, maybe Peace River or Penticton, but they are not going to be flying into High Level and places like that. What this will do is allow them to run the Q400s to their existing smaller markets in order to free up more jets for longer haul flights such as more NYC (for YEG), ATL, maybe DFW??
