I think you're thinking of Guelph?

See I didn't like the second one. Don't like how the building meets the street, don't like the overhang of the building on the sidewalk and don't like the lack of mixed use.

First one in theory was okay, I liked that they were trying to incorporate residential, but a pedestrian street flanked by blank walls has disaster written all over it.

Third was neat, but hardly looks feasible.

Fourth I like the commitment to mixed use and the design at grade, but the buildings architecturally have a ways to come.

Very nice. How much is existing or is it going to be 100% new build?

They're retrofitting the original structure I believe. I don't know to which extent, though there are similarities between the render and what's there now.

"The massing and scale of these towers are exactly what you'd find in Richmond BC. I wonder if this is more than just coincidence."

... As are the buyers

Its a renovation and extension of the original building, formerly the Eckers brewery, and was until a year ago the Just for Laughs museum.

I'm unaware of the date of the six storey red brick component, but the 3 storey grey stone facade dates back to 1894.

Do you know something we don't, sir?

Like for example, tell us that this tower WILL NOT look like some bizarre graphics card inside an antiquated PC.

They're Montrealers. They didn't end up with a gorgeous city by having low standards. Do you want their city to end up looking like North York?

Uh... have you been to Montreal? Yes it is quite beautiful in many parts, but they have quite a selection of mediocre stuff.

I'm just glad that something is being built there. That is one of he worst parking lots in the downtown.

Despite the dearth of new skyscrapers, I'd rather have nothing than something mediocre.

I used to live there. I agree, they've been slipping for years. Time to nip it in a bud!

Yes, I'm complaining that these images look like shite. Which they do.

These look like inner suburbs office towers from 1994.

But I get it, these are preliminaries...

They look like E-condos in Toronto. Just a wee bit shorter.
