Only 4 ordered though, so maybe its the 4 slated for the EIA runs...
I don't know if the D40LFRS has been the one I saw. I would need to see pics of the inside to tell. That is, are they the ones with the reading lights instead of the cabin lights?

CPTDB = Canadian Public Transit Data Base (a website for transit fans)
2012 = Model Year
NFI = New Flyer Industries; Bus manfucaturer
D40LFRS = D40 (40') Low Floor Re-Styled (the new bus models). Edmonton generally runs a regular D40LFRS.

Ah, yes, NFI. What other bus manufacturer could be daft enough to put bike racks on the fronts of the buses without figuring out that the existing headlight configuration would end up getting blocked?

I guess you're familiar with the site then

From what little I saw, it was an D40LFR for sure with a roof-mounted ThermoKing

I find it hard to believe that the transit ridership in SCT can even support running double-decker buses. Which routes are these going to be used on?

If you are running Articulated you could probably fill a DD. STAT should look at it as well. You do take up less road space in one.

I can believe it. Use it in the intercity routes (401, 404, etc.)

It will be pretty neat seeing double-deckers along Jasper Ave and other downtown streets.

I don't want them running in Edmonton. I wish the City would require the county to stop at Bonnie Doon and connect to ETS buses. Frankly there are way to many buses in the downtown core as it is. We need aa central depot or underground transit tunnel like Seattle.

Once the Millwoods LRT is built, that may come to pass.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of ETS's own double deckers.

Here is the mayor of Calgary's interpretation of which provincial party will be best for municipal infrastructure.

First, go to citiesmatter.ca to read the survey and parties' answers. Then click on the link below to see how Nenshi rated their responses:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INjgy5Yl0nA&feature=youtu.be

It reminds me of a teacher giving feedback on an assignment, and the whole class just marginally passed. Whatever their policies may be, the provincial party leaders should take a lesson from Nenshi when it comes to being upfront and transparent. Albertans are smart enough to know when your answers are vague or ill-informed.

Unlikely. Long-range plans shows a line headed that way down (what appears to be) 98th Ave in the They Way We Move Transportation Master Plan, but that is a long ways out. That is the type of line that SC would be willing to contribute towards under a Capital Region agreement, much like St. Albert is looking towards for the NW extension up their way.
