Yeah, I hope the city doesn't let them pay their way around bylaws again like the parking and podium (sorry if wrong term) size with T3.

It would be great to see the Grean Spot survive in the new building.

Sadly, the rent and lease rate that is charged in these new "street retail" levels is so exhorbitant it usually precludes all but the well heeled national chains from locating downtown. So, what you get is the downtown version of the urban mall. Don't expect Green Spot to be setting up shop in Tower 4. But hey, Tims, woohoo!!

Update on Capital Point:

He explained this step can't happen until SaskPower is ready and at this point the start date has been pushed back probably until the middle of May.

"The city and SaskPower have not yet agreed on the route of the relocation - nor have they given us a budget for doing that work so we're a little bit at their mercy at the moment," Black said.

Black said during the first set of meetings last fall with SaskPower the original plan was to have the duct bank continue to run through the property encased in concrete in the underground parking facility. In the middle of February the city and SaskPower changed their minds and decided to relocate the duct around the property.

He is still waiting to see the final plan for the new route, but from what he can tell they will have to start somewhere on Albert Street and run north or south around the corner property

So now there's another delay in the project, and this time it's SaskPower? I think it is safe to say that plot of land is cursed with a capital 'C'.

Harvard announces new office tower for downtown Regina

With the first new office tower in downtown Regina in 20 years nearing completion, Harvard Developments announced Tuesday that will build another office tower at the other end of 1800 block Hamilton Street, starting in late 2013 for occupancy in 2015.

Called Agriculture Place, the new office tower project will be built along side the existing Harvard Developments-owned building at 1800 Hamilton St., which currently houses the head office of Farm Credit Canada. FCC will also be the major tenant of the new building.

Agriculture Place, which will be similar in size to the 13-storey FCC building, will join another Harvard Developments project at the corner of Hamilton Street and 12th Avenue, known as Hill Centre Tower III.

Great announcement (although possibly the worst kept secret), but if that ends up being the actual design I have to admit I'm going to be disappointed... It looks to be the same height as the lowest step on the FCC tower. What is with Harvard and their desire to create table-top effects?

No mention of parking. I hope there is at least 2 levels of underground. I see there is at least one bridge between the towers.

I said it was going to be shorter!

Will be interesting to see if they'll be able to include the pedway, something that is discouraged in the downtown plan. My thinking is that they will argue this is one development, rather than two separate office buildings being connected.

Am I crazy or doesn't that pedway already exist??
