FCC 2 project hasn't received a demo permit have they? So wouldn't it make more sense that the construction workers would move to the 16 story office building since that project has already been approved?

That's being built by another developer, so if Harvard has retained the construction company, whether or not it makes sense doesn't really matter.

I've been checking the parking lot where the 16 floor building is supposed to go at 12th and Rose. It is daily Impark parking - at some point they will have to give notice to the people that use the lot won't they? put up a sign saying find new parking next month etc. or will they just throw fences around it one day and let the 80 or so people that park there scramble?

I do not think construction will start any time soon. There are no tenders out. I would think they have many more months of leasing, financing and detailed design ahead before the are ready to tender.

Here is Regina's "Wall Street," as it appeared last Monday at dusk:

Anyone know what's happening with the hotel(?) that they are building on the old Superstore site? It doesn't look like anything has happened for quite some time, but everytime I drive by there, I see a vehicle or 2.

Not Regina...but close enough..

Construction has started on the RCMP detachment in White City. Also started is a Boston Pizza and Dairy Queen. In the prep stages is a 100 Room Ramada hotel and water slide.

Tower 4?

Ok, so I just had this idea but could be totally wrong .... I read previously that someone floated the idea of hill tower four going where the rumored FCC 2 is to go... Could this be a possibility as they have hit some road blocks with the Gordon block?? I just saw that Harvard had acquired the green spot and that was the first thing that came to mind.
Also, was there a render of FCC 1+2 out there a while back, or am I just imagining??

^I don't know if we've seen a rendering around anywhere. I remember seeing a model of it in the early 90s, but I have no pictures. The second tower had a very narrow floorplate and would have only been where the current podium is.

That's certainly a possibility and a great rumour. Although that's about all we've got on anything right now. Only the condos on Broad and 15th seem to be an actual go at this point.

Yes, these are all going up in White City. I haven't heard anything else on the Sobeys. I'll keep my ear to the ground to see what I can dig up.

Bad news for Southland and Vic Square. Still no plan for Target stores. Two more stores in Saskatoon and one in Yorkton.

I believe the only one in Regina is Northgate. Perhaps they will go big box in the east and south.

I have a friend that works at Zellers and she said that she's heard that they might be building a Target supercenter in the east. Time will tell.

I've also heard that it will be Canadian Tire and Sportchek moving into this space with Mark's work wearhouse moving into the old Sportchek location. This was from somebody who would know a lot about what Canadian Tire's plans would be so I trust the person.

I am assuming you are referring to the Southland location and not Victoria Square.
