Toronto just suffered through the worst snow storm in almost a year!

Hard to believe, eh?

7 floors down, 71 floors to go.

That's awesome if they've actually gotten approval to go even taller, even if it's only 3 floors...interesting though that they haven't gone to the full 80 floors...either way, I guess this building will still have the highest floorcount of any building in the city when it's done...

Interesting talk about the potential extra floors on Aura.
If there are a further 10, as has been mentioned on another thread, then that would add 30-35m in height. Something that would put it on a close par with First Canadian Place.
Which leads me to ponder, could they actually supersede FCP and claim the record for the tallest building in Toronto?

Hey, after BAC and Trump I though it couldn't get any better with regards to Toronto skyscraper construction. But now I see the true overlord of Toronto Skyscraper construction, and it's name is Aura. One Bloor and ICE will NOT be able to match this beast in anyway. As far as I am concerned its up to the proposed supertalls to beat this thing in category awesome.

Is my math wrong? 827 ft is 252 m. City of Toronto web site has this too.
btw; This tower will still look taller than Trump's. Trump is only 775-780 to roof.http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=6167

The tower is 264 meters, and 866 feet.

The tower was originally 240 meters to the roof, and 252 meters to the spire.

Developer got a minor variance to get it to 264 and is now trying to get an additional 3 floors.

I was going by the figure on here quoted as 264m, which is 866ft. There's obviously discrepancy in the thread title. However, based on the figure of 264m, then another 30-35m which is plausible for an additional 10 floors would take this to the mid 290m's to the top of the facade.

In my opinion, if the developer were to add these additional floors, it would be worth the effort and expense to take the height to surpass FCP.

Hes a developer there only thinking about one thing and that is more money for their investment. I really dont think the developer cares if he passes FCP height and while it would be awesome in my opinion I dont think the developer gives two shits about passing FCP height. Not everyone is a skyscraper geek like we all are on here. Although trust me I wish you would be right and they would decide to claim the tallest that would be awesome!!!

I agree that the developer is almost certainly only there to make money, and not 'care' much about anything else regarding the tower. However, I would imagine he would see the opportunity to have the tallest building in Toronto as a means to increase the purchase price and condo fees due to the prestige the building would now have.

That would mean I'd have to sit in front of a computer uploading pictures. Everything I post here, is as it happens. Live and direct to you within minutes of the photos being taken.

Or, just wait until I get a better camera phone. - Right now I'm using an iPhone4. -
