WindData to Invest $210 Million in Build Green Data Center in Texas

Quote:
Energy efficient data center operator WindData (www.winddatacenters.com) announced on Friday it plans to invest $210 in a 600,000-square-foot, five-building data center in Pflugerville, Texas following the approval by the Pflugerville Development Community Development.

According to the agreement, WindData will invest $70 million in the first three years of the TX-1 data center project, as well as another $140 million within 10 years.

The project will generate at least 30 new jobs paying $67,500 a year within the first three years, then an additional 100 jobs within 10 years.

Construction on the facility is expected to begin some time in 2012.

Sears Update

This is probably old news for most of you, given the story broke on December 13, but it looks like Illinois is agreeing to the tax breaks needed to retain Sears.

This doesn't mean that Sears won't relocate, but I'm guessing it's unlikely.

Sears already announced that they are staying just like everyone suspected. Sears also announced today that they are closing 100-120 Sears and Kmart stores due to poor Holiday sales.

Austonian 2nd Tower?

Remember that you heard it here first.... I have from a good source that the Austonian is planning to build a 2nd twin tower, adjacent to the current building. I'm not sure where it would go, but the person who told me said it is going to be a twin tower....

I hope this is true.... If it is.... then I should be given an award for awesomeness on this forum.... If not.... just ignore this post.... :-)

It would be a cool idea, but seeing as how they're not exactly 100% occupied, I highly doubt they're planning a twin tower.

If they go a block north, they better not touch Manuel's! I love big new projects and such, but if I were to have a line that can't be crossed it would be Manuel's. =D

Maybe on the back half of that block on Colorado. Other than that spot, and the Congress side of the block I can't think of where it could go, that would be next to the current one. If it is on Congress and they take out Manuel's I am going to be very sad.

Of course, all a big 'If'. Honestly I highly doubt this. Not saying I don't believe you NYC Horn, but just that it is hard to see happening.

I'd say if the Austonian developers had the opportunity to make another tower, then they should but not like the Austonian. It should be different and as appealing and striking.

Quite frankly I think its cheesy to make twin towers. The only twin towers I feel attached to are to the WTC Towers, but for obvious reasons. I don't even like the Petronas Towers. Yeah, that's right. I said it. It's cheesy.

I'm in overwhelming agreement with you here.
