Oakville is so pretentious! I remember when that place was an abandoned cornfield.

Getting all rich and uppity! My uncle paid less than 100,000 dollars for his house. It's worth over 1.5 million dollars now.

The Oakville waterfront has to have some of the most valuable real estate in Canada outside of a major city centre. I remember when the old Eaton house was selling for $45 million and thinking that was a lot even for Beverly Hills or West Palm Beach. I think they're dividing the land and turning it into condos though.

Downtown Oakville is actually very beautiful and quite pedestrian friendly if you ever have a chance to visit. Lots of nice restaurants and parks along the waterfront.

This is a proposed addition to and renovation of a scuzzy hotel in downtown Victoria.

It should be noted, the thing that makes this location/building special is that it is right on the top of the riverbank with a 80m drop off the back end, and a wicked view. It will be replacing this house-turned-restaurant here.

expand where? Are they going to build on the esplanade, or destroy the existing building and rebuild from scratch?

In any case they cover up or destroy the old facade. I really like the museum the way it is. I hope this doesn't go ahead

I hope it does.The current building is

a) too small to efficiently exhibit the museum's current collection
b) facing the Place des Festivals with a blank wall and garage doors.

Its just not adapted for the current reality of downtown.
