This is actually in North Vancouver. For anyone who is not familiar with Vancouver, North Vancouver and West Vancouver are suburbs whereas the Westide refers to any area west of Ontario st within the city limits, which is not to be confused with the Westend which is basically the western half of the downtown penninsula (yes it is a bit ridiculous).

The Bond is hot architecture. Very Berlin/Tokyo modern style. Hopefully it's a start of great things to come for Winnipeg.

I hear ya. Thee are the types of buildings that define Cities. Tall towers are great for outsiders but for everyday citizens they interact and remember these scaled buildings more.

I'm loving this one. I just feel sad that my Favorite neighborhood is now full-blown into gentrification. Little Portugal and Brockton Village are great little hoods. No stretch on Downtown West has been left untouched now.

^ Perspective is everything. I've always found Little Portugal to be a patchy little area. The pedestrian appeal and aesthetics on Dundas West are quite lacking compared to the other parallel streetcar lines. Portuguese people are awesome but just not very good at establishing interesting retail districts. Many have already started moving out to newer areas in the city, as many former schools and businesses have closed up. Similar to how College went from Little Italy to a diverse mainstream restaurant strip. Change seems inevitable, just like any neighbourhood in an evolving city and should greatly improve the streetscape of Dundas. I like how the hipster hotspot transition has generated new life into the eastern end of Little Portugal.
