Anyway, can you at least hint at the height... the teasing is killing me.
The is no height associated with the project as the plans are far too preliminary, but it will be well over 300m if it goes ahead as currently envisioned, likely around 330m.

Not for a while, the project is still in its infancy and the development team is still not solidified, nor are the plans. This one is a while off, but it is very much a real project and has some very big reputable names behind it.

Nice! I had been hoping for a full rendering of that building. Would be nice to see a larger one though. I think this is a great design and height for the location.

Random protruding boxes make perfect setbacks /sarcasm

Seriously this building would make decent filler at 120m or so but at close to 200m this thing will stand out, and it will be ugly. It looks like it was stolen from Chicago.

Here's a helpful, frequently updated list of rumoured Toronto scraper developments, also including ones that have become real proposals: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthread.php/9157-400-foot-List?p=556746#post556746

awesome render of 88 scott.. much more promising, and looks good.

regarding the site across from 1 bloor, i don't see why everyone is saying the site is too small to build a super tall?.

well primarily because it is too small.

Aside from that I can't imagine too many other reasons.

There seems to be a bit of confusion on surrounding that list. 60 Harbour (TPA lands) is not the menkes two tower proposal but a separate project.

The Meknes proposal is at 90 Harbour. There will be three major developments along Harbour:
  1. 60 Harbour (TPA)
  2. 90 Harbour (Menkes)
  3. 120 Harbour (Tridel)

Wow! My already epic day just got even better!! This tantalizing news is unreal. Def looking forward to how this materializes. The next few years will be unbelievable with all these great projects in the pipeline.

On a side note, really not feeling this 88 Scott. The mish-mash of materials and styles looks awful. Design is really iffy but could look alright depending on execution.

Thanks, LeftCoaster, this has got to be the most amazing news...around 330m??!!

Hope it happens....

263 Adelaide Street West, Toronto. 40 storeys +, Neilas.

263 Adelaide is now listed in Neilas' project portfolio. This must be getting closer.

And it doesn't stop!!!!!

What do we do about all these 20 something fanboys, like Leftcoaster, building skyscrapers everywhere?

And yes there are some 30 somethings getting into the act as well at least they were in their 30's when their projects started. Westbank boy, Riz, Alex, Brad, Don jr. and Ivanka.

Just an fyi, not to be too much of a downer, but it could get chopped into two smaller towers at this point. Will depend on how the financials shake out.
Great way to raise our hopes and then suddenly crush them down bud!
I'll be praying that isn't the case.

Never thought I'd say this, but I prefer Trump. This looks like it came out of an 80's utopia. Setbacks are only meaningful at the low-mid rise levels. Right now it just looks like it's trying to capture that east coast aesthetic that the city never had. And don't get me started on the little "shelves" a-la Montage, M5V, & countless other condos...

Wow... so you prefer a poorly executed skyscraper that accentuates its disproportional floor heights with lime-green panels and features a blank 10 story wall on the street level.

Is that about right?

88 Scott is not without its flaws. Those elevated boxes are indeed completely unnecessary and I'm not sure about the proportions of the top most floors, which I surmise are mechanical, relative to the overall massing. But its welcome reprieve from the all too common 'minimalist Toronto highrise box'. And to say that set backs should only be limited to lowrises? That's just absurd.

i think 88 scott looks like a manhattan residential tower,
and this is 100x better than 120 harbour, 506 yonge, karma, and all those other box towers.

That's really the only reason why people like this tower... despite the pomo window grid/window wall combo, the tower has a faux-historicist massing.

I said that they're only useful at the low and midrise levels of highrises, where they can actually affect wind shear and shadowing and pedestrian realm. I thought zero-lot line boxes are supposed to be "timeless"
