They don't have a website of they're own, so I'm guessing that they do demolition, but they're business in Saskatoon also does Excavation so it is possible they do that to.

Jeez, I drove by the sight late yesterday afternoon and there were at least 25 pidgeons working at the top of the building!

Edit: And now I just called Silverado, apparently they're planning to mobilize the site within the next 2 to 3 weeks, and that they have been neck deep in other demolition contracts so they haven't been able to call them. But they said there will be some people at the site by the end of this week.

If nobody believes give either of them a call to hear it for yourself.

Hey thanks for that news- seeing is believing in this case. I want that model of the building they have in the sales office across the street!

Went by the other day and they still haven't taken out all the windows. Seems to me that they need to do this before demolition, or so they claimed. How many guys does it take to pull out a few windows. Surely they can find a couple willing hands at the temp labour office to get this going. This all smells like the big lie to me. These guys are absolute bush league.

I can 100% confirm that they are simply waiting on Silverado Demolision. The gentleman from that company that I spoke to said that they are way behind but will be onsite ASAP. He also said that the people from CP have been great to work with.

Longtime lurker - finally decided to post as I have some info to contribute!

I spoke with a senior employee with Graham Construction who works often with Silverado and has much insight into the world of construction contracts and projects. He said that Silverado is quite available to be working on the Capital Pointe project at this time. According to him they line that Capital Pointe is waiting on Silverado is a lie.

I certainly hope the project goes ahead (I am one of the brave/foolish few who put a deposit on a unit) but all the delays of the past year don't exactly inspire confidence.

Not true. Why would Silverado Demolision lie about it themselves, they are saying the same things that CP is. Call them and ask for yourself, they are very helpful.

My info is that this is not correct.

I've been as patient as anybody on this project. But think about this. Any other project could withstand a delay like this. But this one has been delayed so much already that each passing day strains credibility a bit more... you think there would be some sort of premium put on getting this demo done.

Agreed.

I have been incredibly patient with this development since I signed over my deposit last August.

After over a year of delays, in which I received 1 (one!) letter from the developers to tell me everything was fine, I am a bit fed up. Had they employed even the simpliest of communications stategy they could have easily salvaged some credibility.

I've come up with the perfect use for this building! Since it seems it's not getting torn down anytime soon, it could be used as a new home for the occupy Regina protesters! I would get them out of the park and make use of a vacant building... occupy Regina meet the Plains hotel!
