In typical CBC fashion, the "stars" they have lined up for the event are mostly unknowns.
these bands are pretty famous. love how the "midnight" music kicks off at the dinner hour.

The light coming from your TV---the thing you stare into each night like a zombie---doesn't bother you, but the lights from a neighbouring building do? Are you for real?

That's unnecessarily harsh - being distracted by rapidly changing light coming in from outside doesn't seem all that bizarre to me.

Dunno about it being a temporary park. That's a Concord Pacific lot:

We are aware that it belongs to Concord, we are stating that it appears to be in the process of being converted into a temporary park in order to qualify for property tax breaks.

That park will be quite short-lived, if they're already marketing the building.

Agreed. I have no sympathy for downtown residents who complain about this sort of thing. IT'S DOWNTOWN FFS! Adapt.

They aren't marketing it though, that website is a placeholder and the project is not on the market. In fact the most recent development was several months ago where Concord tried offloading the property to the city in exchange of CACs payable on the Cambie bridgehead properties.
I wouldn't expect any construction there for a couple of years or longer.

I'm not an insider, but that awful commercial building next door can't be far behind.

WT Leung.

Hopefully we'll see something more interesting than the typical JKMC bland concord-style design.

That makes sense - Cheng is usually associated with the high end projects these days.
WT Leung seems to design for lower profile projects. This one can't be high end.

Emery Barnes Park, SW corner of the park where those buildings were demolished:

When the park expansion happened, the demolished buildings left this old building's south side exposed on the lower half, so it's undergoing some restoration work to make it look better:
