Took the AC LHR flight for the first time. 95-98% packed both ways. Both flights arrived early. Yes I will take it again. Oh and stellar numbers for YEG.

^ Hey, anything counts but my cynical side always interprets things differently. I just see the glaring lack of increases by Canadian carriers....

Nice article in the Sun today regarding YEG. Will be interesting to see what flights they are able to attract once things start opening up in 2012.

There was another article in the print edition that I don't think made it to the online edition (at least I can't find the article). They suggested that as soon as the expansion was complete, they expected to add at least one more direct flight to London, and possibily a direct flight to New York...

So Air Transat 1x weekly returns and WestJet finally starts a NewYork flight? I think Yeg needs to work on Marketing and Communications better.

Wouldn't they upgage the metal to a 777 before adding another frequency? Just another EIA initiated blue skying - given their past record I will believe it when I see it.

There is room to start the New York flight now. There is room to upgrade / increase the London flight now. The YYC-EWR flights depart daily at 10:20 and 12:20 on WestJet and Air Canada respectively. There are plenty of gates for international arrivals / departures to Europe in the afternoon / evenings. Completing the expansion will have nothing to do with these supposedly upcoming new flights.

Unless they will have more cash flow to guarentee flights after expansion, but one would think they would keep expansion and flight development funds seperate. I just do not see Air Canada adding a 2nd daily flight. Year round daily yes, but not 2x daily. From what I understand they want a FRA/EWR/HKG flights first any how. Why would they divert from that goal? Seems to me if you aren't pushing for your goals you are not going to acheive your target.

Here's the link from the sun

Maybe they'll prove us all wrong. Sounds like they actually have something in the "hopper" this time.

is still an estimated 20,737 Edmontonians leaving out of the Calgary airport every day, says Bednard
Pretty obvious mis-quote, that is 7,569,005 a year. I would bet the quote was meant to say 20 737s worth of passengers which would be somewhere around 1.1 million passengers.
