I have the same problem on my home computer, but I get them on my phone. I agree, some traffic cams would be great.

Yes Mike the link has been in my signature since they the put the camera up.
Looks like this >. Saskatoon Circle Drive South Bridge Project - Live Cam

All 3 cameras are working for me.
If anyone is having trouble, it may have some thing do with the browser you are using. I'm using Firefox on a Macbook Pro. Also working well with our IMac and other apple devices.

BTW welcome to the forum Mike.

A couple items...

On the River Landing website there's an update regarding Nasser's Parcel Y proposal (nothing that's really new to us): http://www.riverlanding.ca/project_update/phase1/river_landing_village/index.html

And The James Hotel opening up in the former Sheraton apartment tower has a website up and running: http://www.thejameshotel.ca/

Interesting thing about the Cabela's is that it's the first commercial building of that scale in Saskatoon being constructed using an Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) system. ICF is often seen in residential construction and I've seen it on some smaller commercial projects, but never anything of this magnitude. Kudos to Cabela's for putting out the money to construct a superior (IMHO) structure.

If they do a good roof system (likely for them sloped roof) they will have VERY minimal heat loss, as long as they did a good insulated foundation like one that goes down 1200-1800 out of ICF and has a piece of Rigid at an angle near the drainage tile.

High-rises planned for Saskatoon development will become stores
Company says buildings too costly

Reported by Ashley Wills
First Posted: Aug 24, 2011 9:26pm | Last Updated: Aug 24, 2011 9:28pm

Instead of more housing, the development company in charge of a piece of land near Stonebridge in Saskatoon, will now be looking to add more restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores to the area.

Northridge Developments had planned to build high-rises on the lot near Preston Avenue and Circle Drive, but according to company president Wall Mah, the buildings are too costly.

Mah says he's been contacted by several businesses who hope the land could be used for commercial projects instead.

“There’s been grocery stores -- drug stores like Shoppers -- so there certainly has been some high interest in this site,” said Mah.

My partner just got a job as a Front Desk Supervisor there and apparently opening date is October 11, 2011. One of the front office managers is an import from Paris apparently. Also, the pictures on the webpage are not that of this location, but more conceptual than anything. Apparently it's going to be stunning!!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is Cabela's, is it a chain of some sort?

Sporting goods chain. Link >> Cabela's

They also have a Canadian website that I have links for in previous post. But they must be updating those as they are not active at the moment.

Yay road deck is going on! I wonder when they are going to start opening up the west side and build the rock berm for the east side? It is really going to change the water flow around that area for a while... haha that sandbar that built up will be gone in a matter of days!

yes Ruckus nice pictures, the bridge sure looks different from those angles, the city also looks good from that river angle, skyline would look great with parcel Y developed.

http://www.thestarphoenix.com/news/22nd+...askatoon+city+council/5303997/story.html I think a good solution would be to create a planter barrier like 25th, raised so it's difficult to get in then use thorned plants like the russian olive tree and roses, it would def detour people and be a HUGELY beautifying addition. What does everyone think?

I just can't believe it's taken the city so long to address the issue. Extra pedestrian lights should have been placed a long time ago on that street. I hope that this measure brings down the number of incidents, but I really think a barrier would be far more effective.
