Look at the reflection in the glass on the south/front of wtc 1 and tell me you don't see that perfect number 1...
Look again...
I think all the towers will be numbered for tourists to differentiate them.

The flat tops of Lower Manhattan's Modernism movement from the 60's onward took away from what was so appealing about New York for most of the 20th Century.
I miss the pointy-ness...
I strongly agree with you... If only they had kept that philosophy.
Besides the bulkiness of those modern towers (including the ones being built right now) make them look way shorter than they really are.

Double shame !!!
The irony, of course, is that in the second decade of the 21st century, there is nothing "modern" or "contemporary" about a style of architecture cooked up in the 1920's. Nothing ages faster than the "future."

The steel of number one World Trade Center now pokes above the skyline. It’s the tallest building in lower Manhattan, now up to the 76th floor with concrete decked boards up to the 68th story and glass curtain walls installed to the 49th floor.

nice shots carlos, gotta love those close- ups. the tower is now visible from nearly everywhere, and its domination has only just begun. exciting times!
You guys have no idea how thankful I am for the pictures! It just doesn't seem like it's towering because I check here everyday, but when I go back about 2 months ago it now seems HUGE!
I really want to talk about that light at the top of the new WTC. Does it turn?
