To add to SpongeG's, here's another snap of The Shaugnessy

Grand Central:

The third Grand Central tower will slot in here and front the mall access road:

As will Oasis next door:

M1 really flew up. Brick cladding and glass are well advanced:

It has by far the best podium of any tower in the area:

From a distance it looks like Cascade (the 10 story buildings on the plateau) have topped out. I'll try and get up there one day to get some pics.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but Intracorp is proposing a 38-storey, 288 unit tower just at Beresford and Silver in Metrotown, just a block east of Metroplace. It will include 4-storeys of office and retail fronting on Beresford.

This area will look quite impressive in a few years' time!

Incidentally, Metroplace is 92% sold in just three months. Most of the units remaining are apparently larger 2-bedrooms.

Wow, Metrotown's skyline will look more impressive than Edmonton's skyline after all these projects

Yeah, it looks like Metrotown is also going to further its status as Vancouver's #2 skyline.

Great Coquitlam/Poco updates!

And Holy Shit the Metrotown skyline is going to be out of control once these latest round of proposals are built! Hopefully all these proposals will help push the Metrotown station upgrade to the top of Translink's priority list.

Great! I like the sound of "a four-storey commercial podium."

If so, it mustn't be anywhere near the airport.

I think the poster might have been confused about the location of the Cambie and Marine development, being right on the Richmond border and all.

Low-flying helicopter over Metrotown causes a stir

http://www.news1130.com/news/local/a...-causes-a-stir

Wonder which one of the upcoming projects this was for. Odd they went with a helicopter though and not just a balloon, as it's much cheaper.

Helicopters are wicked cool. Unless it crashes, I'm not sure why anybody would call the cops about it.
