They are opening last week of Sept... so the "coming soon" signage will be up in Aug.

Does anyone know whether there is anything going on for Urban Behavior in Canada?
There is a big Sales sign at the Metropolis store. But the top line of the sign mentions something about Bankruptcy / Insolvency Proposal. I know in 2008 the US parent company filed for bankruptcy but kept the Canada stores opened.

Victoria's Secret will be getting an even better spot. Will be announced soon.

The Walmart Supercentre in Poco opened today at 8am. Maybe someone can correct me, but as far as I can tell no work has started on the accompanying Canadian Tire/Thrifty Foods/Residential components of the Dominion Triangle...

Aeo

I've heard from some people around the industry that American Eagle will move upstairs and take over the Watch/Pen shop - thru to Take5. Although the Sqrft space makes no sense as they are very stubby shops and AEO stores require some space.

Also I know in 2012 a new Hollister or A&F will open in the lower-mainland. My money is on Hollister at ethier Oakridge or Metrotown. I don't think A&F will ever make it here due to the Asian mix of Vancouver.

Iunno...Espirit is a huge hit in Asia, yet it's non-existent in Downtown right now...

my friend said he spoke to someone at esprit in california and that the head company shut down lots of stores to restructure and will be reopening in downtown vancouver in a while...

I went out to the new wal-mart - i was bored - around 4 pm it was psycho, traffic was horrible people were parking on the roadways around the store and walking in, they only were allowing one entrance of the 3 to be used for entry a different one for exit so traffic was pretty bad - loads of people parked at the northern part of the parking area, even on the gravel and than I noticed the southern part of the parking lot was probably 50% empty, where i parked, people were just following the herds and parking in panic i guess meanwhile the other end of the parking lots sat pretty empty and only steps from the store

nothing exciting inside but people were loading up like the end of the world was coming - i guess they are walmart deprived there

The Apple Store going into Metrotown looks quite large compared to the other Lower Mainland locations.

100 Nights owner is opening a new restaurant next to Section 3 in Yaletown. Promises to be another big hit like 100 nights/days. Opening is planned for next month or so.
Looking forward to it!

Small correction, it's the operator of 100 Nights (Rocksglass) that's opening the new restaurant. Owner of 100 Nights is still the same group that owns OPUS Hotel.

The new Kiehl's location in the Robson Forever 21 redevelopment is already open. That was fast.

Crazy. Menchies is huge out here, its pretty tasty but wildly overpriced.

I imagine it will be a big hit in Vancouver though.

Menchie's will just be occupying half of that building. I don't think there is a tenant for the other half yet.

Ahh, that makes sense - it looked awfuly big for what amounts to a fast food place.

On a side note - went to a Yogurtland store (south of Portland @ Bridgeport Village (Crate & Barrel; Saks Of 5th; REI) and the price was pretty cheap.
