Thanks for the pics stormer, the plaza's coming along great. I'm a little confused as to how vehicle traffic is going to work because the gap for the traffic seems very small.

And regarding to that tower, interesting find! it does indeed look like it could be a library project. The scale of the building fits the earlier render we saw. Who knows, maybe it's another office project. If anyone has more information it would be great.

i would say ash based on their form from a distance, but up close the leaves look more linden or elm. a close-up of the full leaf (including leaflets, if applicable) would help

I don't recognize the 'existing' buildings to the left and right of the tower render. I was wondering if this could be the Cantebury tower?

It is definitely not an ash. The leaves and shape look like an elm. This is a better shot. It is defintiely different than the Lindens in the "rooms".

I am assuming those are not the actual adjacent buildings. It is not a residential building-no balconies - what you see are sun shades.

The traffic goes between the light sabres. Yes very narrow for two way. The south edge of the driving lanes is represented by the line that runs from the light sabres and curves slightly to the south.

Any bets on when the first light saber gets taken out by a vehicle?

What are those little brown squares on the center line? Are they holes to insert a barrier of some sort?

I suspect those could be electrical outlets. I was also thinking the same thing about those lights. As soon as it gets icy, those things will be toast.

Didn't the library proposal have a condo as the tower? Then perhaps this render is of something new for the city. Considering the "newco" signs and the sun shades (as you mentioned)..its probably meant to be an office tower. The only possibility of this being a alternate building is for the proposed office tower on rose and 12th.

That is not the centre line. It is the south edge of the eastbound lane. I believe those squares are for the wedge things that are supposed to keep traffic in the lanes (and away from the sabres?).

Just hiding from the photographers.

I saw 2 gas powered saws in the backs of trucks. They have not been used much.

What an attractive building. I hope it does get built in Regina, wherever it may be. Maybe it's an alternative design for the project planned for Rose Street and 12th Avenue? It would also be a great design for the library property. Thanks for all of your great info and photos!

They are building the structure at the west end of the City Square. This is to house security and skate/equipment rental. The foundation for the take out restaurant building at east end is in place but I understand they deferred construction of that for budget reasons. Also in this picture you can see that the squares are in fact catch basins.
