There have been no new pictures posted yet today of the steel on 70-72 but there was a 26'8'' column placed at the core on floor 70 yesterday.

The 70th floor is 853' + 4' for the column splices. This jump is for floors 70-72. It is the 26th jump of 26'8'' or 696'8'' to date of office floors on the 187' base. Total = 883'8''

just realised- as the floors get smaller as they go up, doesn't that mean each floor takes less time to put in?

yes, but in reality there not much less structural steel being used on the floors higher up. Also consider that the higher the tower goes the longer it takes to hoist materials to the top by crane. So really its not taking significantly less time to build these new floors.

awesome night pic ^^^^
i never noticed that the edges/corners weren't illuminated at night, does anyone know if there will be lighting here to give the impression of light coming out at the corners?

I don't think so. However the mast would shoot out a beam of light into the night sky.

If so, maybe it can be done with some kind of floodlighting...?
