Swiftpass? Nevermind, I could see people making fun of that when calgary transit is having a bad day.......lol
One of the things I read was that "the card could be used for other services in the future - not just transit." Is it an RFID (tap) or magnetic strip technology (swipe)?

Hong Kong has the octopus card. London has the oyster card. I'm with Radley on this one. Trout card!

It would also be fun to crowd bomb the contest with something like 'Puppies and Rainbows' which I am sure is a great name for the card! Or perhaps a name linked to Stampede Wrestling!
I think it has to be the Ring-a-Ding-Dong-Dandy card.

From the contest link:

In June 2012, Calgary Transit will be introducing electronic fare payment so you can pay your transit fare with the tap of a card on buses and at CTrain stations.

You mean you are Harper's Chief of Staff? JK.

I submitted Buffalo Card. Why not?

All your suggestions are so variously amusing, unusual, cool, and sometimes tacky.... that I hope you've entered them all. Personally, I like 'the Infinity Card'.

The new Real Time Display Signs, at least the ones downtown, are turned on, showing the time, and a message stating "Real Time Information on C-Train Coming Aug 2011". What happened to 'By Stampede?

Contract issues between the city and the contractor from what I've been told. They're about 1/2 done now. Though to be correct I had speculated stampede, the city had said July.

the cards in Santiago are called "BIP“ (read as "beep" en ingles) which I found charming. Santiago has superb transit btw. Anyway, I really like CTGO.

That has my vote. I was gobsmacked when I moved to Calgary and noticed that Ed Whalen from Stampede wrestling anchored the evening news.

OK...a stroke of genius or just a stroke:

"The Super Happy Fun Card!"

And the card just has to have Transit Teddy on it!

How about the Race Card? The "Race" name is a good way of advertising the speediness of the transit system.

I think Calgarians will be happily pulling the Race Card for years to come.

Any news on a set date for the opening of the City Hall platforms?

I remember hearing June 2011, and it looks like there's still a bit of work to do
