Is wood the final material they are using to cover the canopy at the Shaganappi station? It does look good now but I wonder what the maintenance would be on it...

I'm sure it's wood. which would make the maintenance no different that what's done at Somerset-Bridlewood or McKnight-Westwinds currently.

Sounds good. I've never stepped foot on either of the stations you mentioned and had no idea they were wood. Maybe I should pay more attention to the pics that get posted...

MKWW has a wood structure with a copper roof.

Exposed wood on the underside.

Some photos I took of the 69th Street Station area from yesterday.

Walls starting to go up on the westmost electrical/utility station on the line. It sits on top of and between the two tunnels just before they daylight south of the 69th Street Station.

Another WestLRT photo walk from yours truly. This time I walked the entire alignment from 69th Street to 11th Street. About 10km all told. I know the route is 8km, but I needed to make a few detours along the way. Construction was particularly active at 47th St and 17th Ave. today.

Great pics.

They've started assembling the pedestrian overpass by 24th Street over Bow Trail - one of the giant red arches has been built on the side of the road.

Yeah it'll be nice to be able walk to the train on days that I can't/don't want to bike to work...

How long will it take to say go from 69 st station to 1 st sw downtown?

Shorter than it takes to drive.....and less stress as well! Sorry, I dont have the answer to that.

I just saw the copper roof on the Sunalta station on my ride in to work this morning, it looks great. Does anyone know if there is anything they can do to retain the copper look, or is it going to be allowed to get it's green patina?

hopefully it won't just turn brown right away like the MK/WW station roof. That roof was never all shiny copper at once. The first parts installed had turned brown before they were finished installing.
