I totally agree. That section of the east side still has way too many empty/parking lots. There's plenty of room for growth, but the poverty and drug problems need to be resolved first. These initial developments in the area (Modern on Richmond, Pace, etc) will help the area gradually transition into a more desirable residential/commerical area. I don't think a supertall is in the future, but there's 2 large parking lots that I think is poised for large developments; (bounded by) Shuter/Dalhousie/Queen/Mutual, and the NW corner of Dundas/Jarvis.

Yea for sure.. Though the one I was picturing in my head was closer to the financial district, right at Richmond/Victoria/Lombard.. Though knowing how Toronto's been this boom, it could easily already be a condo or something.

This is only a small part of Jacksonville's skyline. You will find more buildings across the river, which aren't visible in this photo.

Is that from One King West? I stayed there two summers ago. The rooms were pretty big and had a washer/dryer in the suite which was perfect(halfway through a 2 week roadtrip) The lobby which is the old TD bank building was really cool the vault downstairs had been turned into some sor of lounge.

Jacksonville still looks lame either way. A bunch of freeways and parking lots with a couple of corporate towers. 1.3 million never looked worse.
