Good ol bridgeland. I can remember that street well. Riding bikes as a kid. A few more blocks to the west and you would come across a house that had, on its front lawn, the pink, plastic, Calgary tower and a few other skyscrapers made from wood and painted white and green. This guy built them back in 69 I believe. He must have been one of the early skyscraper nuts around the Calgary area. God bless him and his home made skyline. Have any of you seen the front yard skyline of which I speak? Let me know

I love the skyline of Montreal. I find Montreal's has more balance and depth while Toronto looks like a volcano. Toronto's would look so much better if it was more evenly spread from Waterfront to Bloor. Calgary, Winnipeg, and Edmonton have great skylines and each very unique. Vancouver is amazing by being able to have so many skyscrapers and yet such a bad skyline.

^ Toronto is getting a more multi-peak look with so much being built up around the Yonge-Bloor area, and with Aura and now 501 Yonge, it will get the look of having a constant skyline from the Waterfront to just north of Bloor.

The view from the lake is also spreading outwards, with RBC and Ritz, as well as Cityplace pulling the overall shape more west, and now the CN tower isn't the furthest west part of the skyline. This will especially be the case once Signature tower is done.

Also I have said from day one that Trump should have been in a different location, and I would personally like to see the skyline start to spread out more to the east now (not into the older district along Front street, but further north around Richmond, Adelaide, Queen, etc. I think a supertall being over there somewhere would really balance it out in that view from the lake.

Its an old thread, but fun to read through - really exemplifies how & why Canadian cities tend to have better skylines than their American counterparts, with fewer rather than many exceptions.

In Canada,we choose to build up (just a little bit more) instead of out than many cities in the states.

I think I like the view from the north best -- you can see how the height limits step up away from the river. CP3 & CP4 will extend the skyline to the left and Tribeca and 150 Elgin (build the thing already!) will infill nicely but, sadly, a lot of what's under construction or proposed will be swallowed up by the great 20-storey wall.
