Not downtown - It's "Landmark 6" out with the rest of the Landmark Buildings. There is an eight storey office building going up on Manhattan Drive starting in the next few months, however...

Although this one has a better location, I am more excited about the Landmark 6 tower, 18 floors is actually a decently tall office tower, i think that would make it the tallest office tower in BC outside of Metro Vancouver.

When I drove by this morning they were doing soil compaction on site, so I think this will be going ahead reasonably soon. I think the plan is to have a 12 storey building go in beside this in the next few years, as well.

^ That office tower looks so....Kelowna. I'll just take the glass-is-half-full approach, and say that any office/residential density in Kelowna is good density.

As for the 18 floor office tower, I suspected it would go up around the other Landmark towers. Kelowna will have two legitimate skylines if all these projects go ahead.

^^^ sure doesn't look like 18 stories. There are some fairly tall buildings in Kamloops... I don't know if this one will eclipse those ones in height

As for the new yacht club, I guess I'd have to go with option three-though I'm not crazy about it.

i like the design as well. hopefully all the planned apartments/condos get built around that area too. burtch and sutherland could become a major crossroad in the very near future.

Landmark VI looks great! I had pictured them building in the same style as buildings 3, 4 and 5 but I'm glad they're switiching it up. This will look nice driving west on the highway through town.

I like the tan / beige / peach colour scheme Kelowna has going on, for the Okanagan is really the only place in Canada that can get away with using Mediterranean colors and have them look at home. I want Kelowna to have a unique look different from Vancouver and Victoria

Anyways, i read the article and it looks like the regular NIMBYs are making their stance against Manaco (the ironic thing is some of them are from the Madison, oh how I love hypocrites, the worst type of NIMBY (a North Van special they should be called, hehe)).

So I hope all those on here who are in favor of having a few taller towers finally being built again in downtown Kelowna go to these meetings and show your support.

19 and 23 floors is not too tall for Kelowna or the area they are proposed in.

Where will this be built? I vaguely remember that the site of the current Yacht club was to be turned into a continuation of the park that was just built there?

Re: the Yacht Club - the park will be extended over the current Yacht Club site and the new Club will occupy the site of the current Senior's Centre (which is moving to Parkinson Rec)
