I'm disappointed. I would think that having waited this long Urban Fare would be happy to see all the sales and rentals.

Having said that, I am not familiar with Nesters or Choices. What makes you think they are better suited to the area?

SFUVancouver: Many thanks. Great overview as usual. Nice to see Maynards and James approaching grade.

Urban Fair and Nesters are both part of the Pattison Group. So, the sign will be different but the product the same.

nesters is a little less gourmet though and more practical but still not a full size feeling grocery store mor elike you need a few items at the last minute with more reasonable prices than a corner store

Great update for those of us who can't get out there as much, thanks!

It would be great for us non-vancouver folks to see a map of the overall area, with the names of the developments under construction and proposed to see what areas are being built and what remains. I know its probably a lot of work, but so many projects have been announced since this thread started, it is hard to keep track of what is what. Thanks alot.

The Cavalia Big Top is taking shape... [Note... Cavalia is apparently Cirque meets Horse Show]

I'm sure this will look great in SFU's next comprehensive SEFC photo update.

Well this is positive news. If you do the math, nearly $100mil in condos have been sold since the relaunch.

Quote:
VANCOUVER - More than half of the 230 units recently put up for sale at the troubled former Olympic Village have been sold after what marketer Bob Rennie called a strong first weekend.

In a news release issued today, Rennie said 128 new condominiums were sold at an average price of $778,800. The most expensive unit went for $2,999,900, Rennie's release said.

Twenty units sold for more than $1 million.

More to come.

Rennie also wants to sell some of the units flagged as rentals too.

The usual losers are promising to set up a tent city this Saturday too.

So they'll have "Housing not circuses" signs next to the Cirque tent?

Nestors or Choices seem like the best suited for there IMO....
I would expect that Urban Fare is probably renegotiating their contract rather than pulling out, based on Rennie's success at shifting those units over the weekend.

Presentation centre closes around March 15, excavation expected to commence shortly thereafter.

Completion scheduled for January 2013 (Phase 1 - West Buildings) and June 2013 (Phase 2/3 - East Buildings).

Wow, with the money Rennie will make off that he'll be able to buy like a dozen more sexually suggestive bear statues.

"Condo king Bob Rennie confronts Village protesters"

Kind of funny video of Bob Rennie confronting the tent city people.

Him trying to explain to those people that money doesn't grow on trees is probably one of the most fruitless efforts possible.

Bob: "The city is at risk of losing $742 million, it's my job to help them get it back, if they don't get it back that's hundreds of millions of dollars that can't be spent on anything else and is a big loss to the tax base, the money has to come from somewhere"

Them: *blank stare* "But you're rich".
