SYDNEY — Shannon Park "would be a natural site" for a stadium in Halifax Regional Municipality, Defence Minister Peter MacKay said Wednesday.
The fact that Defence Minister MacKay is touting it as a good location is a point in Shannon Park's favour, especially if it could receive some federal funding. If a ferry terminal could be built there then maybe the regular Metro Transit ferries could operate just during events which usually occur at different times than the peak ferry schedule. It might not cost too much just for a ferry terminal (?). Then if a few restaurants and shopping areas could spring up in that area also then it would be that much better.
